This experience was truly remarkable and unforgettable. We were able to observe at least eight whales up close, as they fed, jumped out of the water, and interacted with our boat. What an incredible experience. The guide, skipper, and crew were all fantastic. We saw numerous whales breaching and playing around the boat, which made it hard to know where to look. They really brought us into the action. It’s the best experience we’ve ever had. We took the train from Boston, which was affordable and convenient; however, be cautious about visiting on Mondays (we went in May) as Gloucester is rather quiet with limited options for cafes, restaurants, or bathrooms. Just plan your train times wisely. Once we were on the boat, everything was perfect, and the staff were wonderful. Thank you!
This trip was incredible; we spotted numerous whales. The experience was fantastic overall. The naturalist explained how different humpbacks are identified by their tail markings. We observed finbacks and many humpbacks, with some playfully waving their flippers. It was delightful to see mother whales with their pups. I'm thrilled we participated. Our adult daughter was uncertain about the trip due to her childhood motion sickness, but after taking Dramamine before boarding and enjoying the open air, she ended up having a wonderful time. Ginger capsules are effective as well. I advise bringing a coat and ear protection because it can be windy. We took some snacks along, and the ship's snack shop was convenient for warming up if needed. The small gift shop also added to the enjoyment. I highly recommend this experience.
