This was an unforgettable experience. I'm really happy I discovered Glenwood Springs and this location. The tour guide was fantastic.
Our experience with Whitewater Rafting was generally positive. The staff and our guide, Franco, worked hard to enhance our enjoyment. He offered tips along the way to elevate our experience, which we appreciated. Franco also shared some geological and historical insights about the area, but his voice was difficult to hear from the front rows of the raft, so we missed a lot of it. Their camp features a store for last-minute purchases, and lockers are available in the restroom. However, most people left their belongings in their cars and their keys at the counter. I do want to mention that the ladies' restroom needed better upkeep, as only one of the two toilets was functioning. Additionally, the changing rooms and showers were quite dirty. Here are a few points to consider before you go: 1. The actual time spent paddling on the river is around 30 to 40 minutes. The most thrilling part is the Shoshone rapids, which are level III and occur within the first 15 minutes. After that, the trip becomes more relaxed, with fewer opportunities to paddle. If you want an action-packed adventure, you might want to consider skipping these rapids. 2. If you sit in the front row, be prepared to get very wet. There are many splashes, so those who dislike cold water might prefer the back seats. 3. The water is really cold. Even in August, with the temperature at 68° on our day, it was quite shocking. 4. I wouldn't recommend adding lunch. It's only available at the camp before or after the trip, and there aren't stops along the way. The portions are small, making you wish for more, so it might be better to eat at a restaurant downtown. 5. Think about opting for the kayak add-on. We didn't try it, but since the river calms down after the rapids, it sounds like a fun choice. Overall, I believe Whitewater Rafting provides a solid experience, and I would recommend it, especially for first-time rafters.
It was an excellent experience even with the weather conditions. Curd proved to be an outstanding guide, providing both knowledge and skill. The trip featured a nice variety of rapids, and it wasn't overly rough for August.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Randi proved to be a fantastic guide. Spotting a bear on the river was a highlight. However, we would have preferred a few more rapids, as it became quite calm and peaceful at times.
This was a fantastic introduction to white water rafting. It wasn’t overly intense, but it definitely got the adrenaline flowing and left us soaked. I highly recommend it. NASCAR, our guide, was excellent!
It was a fantastic experience. The check-in process went smoothly, and everyone was friendly and supportive. Our guide, Moss, provided valuable information and assistance throughout.
We participated in a water rafting trip with a group of 11, including kids aged 7 to 16. Our guides, Stacks and Nick, were excellent and made everything enjoyable. Despite our last-minute booking, they accommodated us with ease and brought a fun, lighthearted vibe. Stacks engaged the teens and tweens while ensuring their safety, while Nick kept the adults and younger kids laughing. The experience was a wonderful mix of thrilling rapids at the start and a relaxing pace towards the end, allowing us to swim. Nick also shared interesting facts about the area and highlighted its stunning features. I would definitely choose them again for an unforgettable experience.
We had an amazing day on the Double Extreme rafting trip. Scott was fantastic, combining effective instruction, navigation skills, tour guiding, and humor throughout the experience. The smaller 12' raft made the water interactions exhilarating. For several in our 4-person group, it was their first time rafting in Colorado, and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. I highly recommend this for those looking for an adrenaline rush.
I had a wonderful afternoon on the river with Britt, the future Mr. Aspen. He provided a wealth of information about the local area and made the experience engaging.
This experience was incredibly enjoyable, and our guide took every measure to ensure we felt secure. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys river rafting.
