One hour across a private cattle ranch — scenic trails through pastures and forests with canyon views, suitable for all riding levels.
This one-hour horseback ride takes place on a working cattle ranch located in Glenwood Canyon, just a short distance from Glenwood Springs. The experience is far from staged; it offers a genuine taste of Colorado ranch life, featuring wide-open landscapes and peaceful trails that invite you to connect with nature.
You will follow routes that meander through open pastures and shaded forests, climbing along ridgelines for sweeping views of the canyon. With limited group sizes, the ride feels personal and relaxed, making it accessible for both first-time riders and those with more experience. Dress comfortably and prepare for a leisurely pace as you enjoy the serene surroundings.

The Bair Ranch offered a fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. However, my experience with TripAdvisor was disappointing. They cannot accommodate credit card changes, requiring you to cancel and rebook at a higher rate if needed. I also didn’t receive directions, and the waiver link was problematic. Other companies I’ve used have been great, but Bair Ranch was truly exceptional.
Horseback riding was a wonderful experience for us. Bella, our guide, was very knowledgeable and made it even better. We're already looking forward to our next visit to do it again.
The trail ride was stunning, featuring well-trained horses as we journeyed through the mountains and wooded landscapes. At the summit, there's a lovely glen perfect for taking photos and relaxing. The guide added to the experience with his humor while riding bareback.
The experience truly deserves a 5 out of 5, and I would happily do it again. Our guide was fantastic, keeping us engaged throughout. The horses were not only beautiful but also very well-trained. It was definitely worth the cost.
The horses were excellent, and we had the opportunity to select our favorites. The guides were outstanding—helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and skilled with horses. This experience was absolutely worth it.
We enjoyed an afternoon horseback ride in the mountains with Taylor as our guide. As novice riders, we had no difficulties. The views and wildlife were stunning. It was a fantastic way to spend the afternoon.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, the views were stunning, and I highly recommend this experience to everyone.
It takes a little while to get going, but the ride is definitely worthwhile. The horses are well-behaved and sturdy. Even non-riders managed to have a good time. We appreciated being “passengers” without the need to actively ride and loved the beautiful scenery. The trail guides were friendly and relaxed, with plenty of chances for photos.
It was an excellent experience. As a first-time rider, I found our guide to be very informative and caring. When my water bottle fell out during the ride, I expressed my concern about littering the area. She reassured me she would locate it and asked if I would manage without water. Such kindness.
This experience was truly beautiful. Our guide, Taylor, was attentive and provided thorough explanations. The horse I rode was just right for me, especially as a 75-year-old who hadn't been on a horse in 55 years.
