I needed a last-minute activity for my nephew while my niece attended a softball camp at college, and this was perfect. It was a bit too windy for a stroll, but this kept him engaged and entertained without lasting too long. Thank you!
This ghost tour ranks among the best we have experienced, and we have attended several. Our guide, Janet, stands out by grounding her storytelling in factual historical records. There is no exaggeration or drama; instead, she focuses on debunking myths and clarifying stories, providing a clear perspective. She also enhanced our understanding of the show 'Ghosts of Shepherdstown' and its factual basis, which we recommend watching beforehand. We can't wait to come back for a full moon tour and possibly an All Hallows Eve tour, if we’re brave enough.
It was straightforward to use and a pleasant experience overall. Although it took some time for the location to sync with where we began, we managed to sort it out. The stories narrated were quite engaging.
While there weren't many ghost stories, it was still a decent experience considering the cost. It provided a pleasant alternative to walking the battlefield, making it a suitable activity for a rainy day.
Discovering the battlefield independently without feeling rushed is fantastic. You have the freedom to begin your exploration wherever you choose, and you can reuse it whenever you like.
The tour focuses heavily on historical aspects and gruesome tales. The narratives were overly lengthy. It would be more enjoyable if held after dark, but the park shuts down an hour prior to sunset.
It was challenging to hear the directions while trying to charge my phone, drive, and navigate. I easily got lost and had trouble locating some places. It wasn't the greatest experience.
After we got accustomed to the tour format, we found it quite enjoyable. The stories, which blend history and the supernatural, effectively create a vivid picture, ideal for a paranormal experience. We often see comments about tours being more historical than ghost-focused, but understanding the context enriches the ghost tales. This tour strikes a commendable balance between both elements. A tip from us: while the narrator, Mark N, mentions you can easily stray from the path and rejoin it, we discovered that it was actually quite challenging to leave the trail and then reconnect.
The audio tour we did in the car was a wonderful experience, allowing us to explore at our own pace. We appreciated the option to repeat the tour either during our visit or this year. The information provided was excellent. While we didn't encounter any spirits, we still had a fantastic time.
Among all the audio tours I experienced in Gettysburg, this one was the most underwhelming and disappointing. Unlike other tours that offer continuous audio, this one had numerous silent gaps. Additionally, some markers didn't align with the destinations, and the initial directions were inadequate. I was quite let down.
