Reviews
Though we only had about three hours at Gettysburg, we were able to see all the key sights we wanted. The tour was quite valuable, providing clear directions and concise information. It also offers extra resources for those interested in exploring further. Families will find it ideal as it includes basic background on the war and its key figures, while still offering deeper insights into each location. The treatment of both sides is respectful, making it suitable for visitors from both the South and the North. However, it would have been helpful to have a reminder about the Confederate leaders' broken military oaths, the South's defeat, and the underlying issue of human rights that fueled the conflict. That aside, the tour is certainly worthwhile. Just be cautious at Seminary Ridge, where the drive can get a bit confusing.
We had an excellent experience with the self-driving tour of Gettysburg. Setting everything up on our phone was straightforward, and the narration was outstanding. We appreciated the extra stories offered throughout the journey, and the directional signs for the route were superb. It took us about 4 hours to finish, though we could have spent more time since we had our dogs in the car and couldn’t leave them for long. We strongly recommend this driving tour.
We were initially doubtful about the self-guided tour, but it exceeded our expectations. The narrative was engaging, and the directions were straightforward. It was wonderful to have the flexibility to spend varying amounts of time at each location. We completed it in around 2 hours, but we intend to revisit and explore more thoroughly by getting out of the car at additional stops.
The tour was both informative and entertaining. It was simple to follow along, and it was great to enjoy the experience from the comfort of my own vehicle.
It was a fantastic experience. The app functioned flawlessly, making it very enjoyable. Thank you.
The Audio-Guided car tour was quite informative. My husband installed the app on his phone, and we utilized it during our exploration of the battlegrounds on the first day. We did encounter some issues, as the app struggled to connect to the car via USB or Bluetooth, and there was a noticeable delay in the directions, especially at speeds over the recommended 25 MPH. It's advisable to drive at a leisurely pace through the park to avoid this issue. In general, we appreciated the app and the insights it offered about the battlegrounds, covering all the key attractions and providing detailed accounts of the battles that occurred.
The self-driving tour was excellently designed, offering valuable insights and rich historical background. The app was simple to download, set up, and navigate.
It's important to begin at the right spot and use the GPS. If you start driving before the narrative has finished, it might cut off early.
Visit the museum initially to grasp the strategic placements of the armies and the defensive setups that are thoroughly explained by the guide. It was an excellent experience, surpassing any Civil War course I took in high school. I didn't take photos, as my phone was used for the tour.
We previously took a bus tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield two years ago, but this year we opted for the audio tour, which turned out to be the best experience we’ve had.
