Wes made for an excellent hiking guide. He ensured our hike on the Appalachian Trail to Kuwhoi was enjoyable, safe, and filled with valuable information.
Wes and his colleague Wes provided an exceptional experience. Having lived in the mountains their entire lives, they are rich in Smoky Mountain knowledge. They connect well with people of all ages, making the hike enjoyable and fun. They guide you along less crowded back trails and I highly recommend this hike.
Our experience exploring the Smoky Mountains with Smoky Mountains Guide was fantastic. From beginning to end, everything was well-organized. Our guide, Wes, was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. He reached out the day before to coordinate details and offered helpful advice on what to bring, which made us feel prepared. Wes was punctual, and the tour itself surpassed our expectations. Opting for a guided walk allowed us to learn more about the Smokies, and it was absolutely worth it. He provided extensive insights into the area's history, wildlife, and flora, enriching our experience significantly. We also enjoyed the thoughtful extras they provided, including snacks, water, and walking poles. Overall, we highly recommend Smoky Mountains Guide and would certainly book with them again. This was truly a five-star experience.
Clingman's Dome, located in the center of the Great Smoky Mountains, is definitely worth the hike. While it can be a bit challenging, the effort is rewarded with stunning views of the mountain peaks and the expansive range. It's an excellent spot for photography.
The hike was outstanding, and Lydia proved to be a fantastic guide and companion for both my daughter and me throughout the day. It was refreshing to escape the crowded paved paths.
Hiking to the observation tower at the Dome was a great experience. The clear weather made the hike enjoyable. The parking lot was busy when we arrived in the early afternoon, with a $5 parking pass required for the day. Be sure to bring water, as the half-mile hike is quite steep, and walking poles can be beneficial.
We had been eager to do this since arriving in Tennessee. We completed the hike this morning and reached the summit! There were many people on the trail, all of whom were very friendly.
The Dome was breathtaking, but I would not have discovered this trail or gained so much knowledge without Lydia as my guide this morning. She was outstanding and truly enhanced the experience.
The view at the top is stunning, showcasing a magnificent landscape. Be ready for a steep walk from the parking lot, and expect it to be windy up there. The area is gorgeous, so make sure to visit the visitor center beforehand to purchase a $5 parking pass. You'll find plenty of informative displays and some interesting shops in the center. Arriving early is advisable; I got there around 9:30 with no parking issues. Also, don't miss Mingus Mill, which is a picturesque old mill worth a brief visit.
We participated in the Classic Van Tour, which included Clingmans Dome and a waterfall trail. Our guide, Wes, was outstanding. His extensive knowledge and infectious enthusiasm made our experience truly enjoyable. We loved every moment!
