We feel conflicted about giving Marine Dynamics a 3-star rating, knowing the essential work they do for local marine life. During our 3-hour shark cage experience, we only saw a few rays in the water. It seems that sharks have become a rare sight in the bay; there were even rumors that none had been spotted for months. While we understood there was no guarantee of seeing sharks—having been informed multiple times that a voucher for a future visit would be issued if no sharks were seen—we felt this might be more beneficial for locals than tourists. We acknowledge that wildlife experiences can be unpredictable. Marine Dynamics does an admirable job, and we recognize that the revenue from these trips is vital for their operations. However, it might be worth reconsidering the name of the excursion to something like 'marine experience' instead of shark cage diving. Wishing them the best.
The shark cage diving was incredible. I went with a group of 30-40 people and had ample time in the water. A marine biologist provided insights while we enjoyed snacks on board. I also appreciated the focus on conservation efforts.
From beginning to end, it was exceptional. Their profound understanding of the animals complemented the time spent in the water perfectly, allowing for both observation and learning. They were outstanding.
While in South Africa, I couldn't pass up the chance to go shark cage diving. Marine Dynamics not only provides this remarkable experience but is also deeply involved in conservation efforts for sharks and other ocean life. Their eco-tours support research and conservation initiatives, including studies on sharks, rehabilitation of penguins and seabirds, and educating the community. This is evident at the Seabird Sanctuary in Gansbaai, which cares for sick and undernourished African penguins from Dyer Island. Many of these penguins are eventually returned to the wild. They are doing truly admirable work, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
The entire experience was truly incredible, from the sharks to the attentive staff, making it one of our family's best outings. The staff went above and beyond, providing our boys with hot water bottles, snacks, and hot chocolate after their turn. They even allowed our son Finn, who is a shark enthusiast, to participate again. I highly recommend this for creating unforgettable family memories.
I originally signed up for the shark cage dive but decided last minute to upgrade to the sea lion swim. Marine Dynamics is impressively organized and efficient, with a friendly and helpful staff that creates a wonderful atmosphere. The shark cage experience fell a bit short due to limited visibility, making marine life sightings scarce, aside from the bronze whaler. However, the sea lion swim by boat was extraordinary and far surpassed my expectations. I especially appreciate our guide, Susy Alexandersen, who provided excellent care since I can't swim, as well as the entire sea lion team and the skilled skipper for making this experience unforgettable. I could have spent hours in the water, though the chilly temperature made it tough, even in wetsuits. Thank you, Marine Dynamics; I'll certainly be back!

There were no great white sharks as advertised. In reality, the area hasn't had great whites for years. We only spotted a few small bronze whaler sharks, which wasn't exciting. The water was cold and the surf was rough. While the staff was friendly, it turned out to be a disappointing experience overall.
The experience was highly professional from the moment we arrived in the morning. We encountered plenty of wildlife and marine life, and I felt very secure throughout. I would definitely recommend this excellent shark diving company to everyone.
