Reviews
The guide was fantastic—friendly and knowledgeable. The track through the Franschhoek wineries was impressive, featuring tastings and snacks at two very renowned wineries.
Exploring the winelands this way was incredibly enjoyable for us. We are grateful to our guide Carlo and driver Yaseen for their punctuality and support, especially since it was pouring rain, yet our small group still chose to bike. Carlo's extensive knowledge of the region's history and wines was impressive, and he ensured we could warm up by the fire at each stop. We visited a great selection of wineries, with La Brie and its Syrah being my personal favorite. The bikes were comfortable, making for an easy ride overall. I highly recommend this experience.
This was an absolutely incredible experience. Initially, it was a bit hectic finding the meeting point due to a pin issue, but we arrived on time. Our guide, Eon, was outstanding; he shared insightful information along the way, including details about the colors of the South African flag, which he happened to have in his backpack. The tour was well-organized, starting with the majority of the riding before transitioning to shorter travel times between vineyards, which was appreciated given the heat. The tastings were exceptional, and the time at each location was just right. Eon even kindly returned us to our hotel afterwards. It was a fantastic day with the best guide imaginable. I would highly recommend this tour.
Carlo made for an excellent guide, and we had a delightful day exploring the stunning landscapes of the area that you wouldn't catch from a car or the wine tram.
The tour was excellently organized, and our guide, Kyle, was outstanding. We gained a lot of knowledge about the local area and the wineries. The picnic lunch was fantastic, and all the vineyard visits and tastings were delightful. I can't recommend this experience enough; it was worth every penny, and I'll be sharing my experience for years to come.
Kyle was excellent, sharing plenty of local insights while being genuinely friendly. The wine estates we visited offered amazing tastings, pairings, and a delightful picnic lunch. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks, Kyle, for a memorable experience!
We rode the tram the previous day, which felt overpriced and overly touristy. However, this tour was fantastic; we explored unique spots in the city we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. Our guide shared intriguing insights about both the city and the vineyards we visited. The cycling was enjoyable and not challenging at all. I highly recommend it (just skip the tram).
This tour exceeded my expectations and was worth every cent. The bikes were excellent, the pace ideal, and we experienced the stunning valley while indulging in wonderful food and wine. Our guide, Kyle, was incredibly knowledgeable, providing us with a wealth of information about South Africa, the region, and wine. I strongly recommend it.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide Eon shared insights about the part of town he lives in and offered some interesting South African history. The bikes were easy to handle, making for a relaxing ride through the winelands. We visited Backberg, La Bri, Glenwood, and Rickety Bridge. The views were beautiful, particularly at the first two stops. Cycling to Glenwood was especially enjoyable, while Rickety Bridge was busier than the others. The snacks paired with the tastings were nice, and the chocolate pairing at La Bri is a must-try. The lunch platter was mostly salad and not very large, but it was adequate. The day lasted from 10 am to 4 pm.
The ebike tour was a delightful experience, featuring a well-rounded selection of stops and informative breaks about South Africa's wine industry and local history. The biking was manageable, especially on the ebike, though it's advisable to be cautious on warm days. Snacks and water were provided, with a more generous spread at the final vineyard, Rickety Bridge, following the tour. Overall, it was a fantastic way to explore Franschhoek and sample a variety of regional wines.
