A day trip to Bimini or Grand Bahama by ferry, with options for beach relaxation or additional activities.
This day cruise offers a ferry trip from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas, where you can choose to spend your day at Bimini Island or Grand Bahama. On Bimini, enjoy access to the Beach Club featuring two pools, lively pool parties, DJs, and pristine beaches with turquoise waters. If you opt for Grand Bahama, expect a more tranquil environment with stunning shoreline.
Various activities can be booked aboard the ferry, allowing for a more tailored experience. Relax on the white sandy beaches or bring your sunscreen and a hat for a day of leisure in the sun. Check the ferry schedule for departure times and plan accordingly to maximize your day in the islands.
Reviews
The experience was terrible. Initially scheduled for 6 AM, the departure was pushed to 9 AM, and we didn't leave until 11. Once we reached the island, we only had two hours there, and all excursions were unavailable. We were left with nothing to do. This was the worst experience I've ever had, and I won't do this again.
Our first day trip was fantastic. While on vacation from Texas, we enjoyed a pleasant ride both ways. We had ample time to explore the island, which I never thought would happen on a day trip to the Bahamas.
A great experience to share with family. The music was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. I strongly recommend it to everyone and beyond.
I would rate this trip at 4.5. The ferry check-in and journey were seamless, with ample food and drink choices as well as a small gift shop. The seats were roomy and comfortable. However, the WiFi and many charging ports were non-functional, so ensure your phone is fully charged before getting on board. The excursion staff was entertaining and friendly, ensuring I got to the transport bus. The bus drivers adhered to a strict schedule, so it’s important to be punctual at your pickup point. One individual nearly got left behind on the return journey, but the driver made a commendable effort to find them, only to learn they had taken a taxi. This caused us unnecessary waiting and made us the last group to return to the ferry, so being considerate and on time is essential. The resort was enjoyable, with a $90 fee for food and drinks. I didn’t give it 5 stars due to the lack of enthusiasm from the resort staff regarding excursions. After talking to two excursion stations, I finally located the person in charge of water sports, who mentioned paddle boating was challenging because of the wind. He suggested snorkeling instead. Later, I saw staff taking some resort guests sailing. When I asked about it, I was told I needed to sign up first thing in the morning, but we arrived at noon, making it impossible for me to do so. I was disappointed, as no one had mentioned this activity when I first inquired. It would have been helpful to have information on available activities ahead of time so we could schedule them with the resort.
I was let down by the food options, and there were no ports available to charge my phone. The lengthy wait was quite exhausting. However, the view was beautiful and the staff were pleasant.
The entire experience was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were friendly, the instructions were clear, and the beach resort was pleasant.
The journey to Freeport took over 4 hours, and with just 40 minutes spent at the beach, we barely had time to appreciate the lovely island. Paying 500 Euros felt excessive for this experience.
The boat skipper was quite humorous while also being very dedicated to his role. We observed many alligators, and he shared interesting insights about the local flora.
The arrival and departure times were quite lengthy and tiring, leaving me with only about four hours on the island itself. Wouldn't choose to do it again.
The ferry ride to Bimini was enjoyable, but I suggest bringing a sweatshirt or a blanket as the boat can be quite cold. It would also be helpful to research directions in advance since the instructions on reaching the ports could be clearer.
