I had a wonderful time on the Morris Island Lighthouse Eco-Tour with Gresh. As an 8th generation Charlestonian, he provided an amazing historical perspective. We saw oyster beds and even a pod of dolphins just five feet away from our boat. Gresh also gave us 45 minutes to explore the island by ourselves. I strongly recommend his tour to anyone visiting Charleston, S.C.
I had an amazing experience on this trip. Captain Gresh was welcoming and provided great insights into the area and its wildlife. Morris Island is stunning and tranquil, and I appreciated that Gresh allowed our dog on board. This private, serene trip was far superior to being part of a large tourist group. We look forward to doing this again.
This tour in Charleston is truly a must-do. After our private tour was rescheduled due to weather, Gresh kindly let us join another family. We learned about his family's local history, spotted dolphins and oyster reefs, and had about 45 minutes on Morris Island to search for shells and take photos. The boat was clean and the ride enjoyable. I suggest wearing shoes that can handle sand and bringing a small bag for your shells. The cost was $225 per couple.
A private tour was the ideal choice for us. Our group felt this adventure was the highlight of our trip. Captain Geresh was fantastic, providing us with an incredible dolphin experience, including a mother dolphin teaching her calf to fish and witnessing dolphins participating in Strand Feeding. He also shared intriguing history about the island and its lighthouse and allowed time for shelling. Despite the rainy weather, Captain Geresh ensured we enjoyed the complete experience. Thank you, Captain!
Captain Gresh was exceptional and surpassed our expectations. He arrived on time, was professional and personable, and shared a wealth of historical and current information along with entertaining facts. His boat was clean and well-maintained, and he was intimately familiar with all the rivers, creeks, and waterways. We encountered many new sights as well as some beloved ones, such as oyster beds, crab traps, stunning homes, the Morris Island landscape at low tide, shells, birds, flounder, dolphins, and even old Civil War bullets. Thanks to Captain Gresh's excellent guidance, we felt secure throughout the trip. We would gladly choose him again; this experience was a highlight of our visit to Folly Beach and Charleston.
We joined the 8am tour with Captain Gresh and it was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, and our 3-year-old mini Aussie loved the boat ride. It was a highlight when Gresh allowed us to stop at Morris Island and let our dog run free; it was one of her best experiences. On our way back, we also saw several dolphins. I highly recommend taking this tour with Captain Gresh.
I want to thank everyone who shared photos and detailed feedback since it helped me decide to book this adventure. I hope my account assists another family seeking a remarkable experience. While RVing at the KOA, we sought a fun outing and joined by another family with a 9-year-old, the trip was truly spectacular. Gresh, our guide, was a passionate local with deep ties to Charleston's history. We encountered dolphins, including mothers with their young, and reveled in the beauty of an uninhabited beach filled with shells and starfish. The 11am to 1pm slot was perfect for our kids. After the boat excursion, we enjoyed lunch at a local pub before returning to our campsite. I appreciated having our private group, avoiding any rowdy tourists, as I prefer a quieter experience. This adventure was worth every penny; I found it surprisingly affordable compared to typical tourist traps, and it was truly an exceptional personalized experience. Thank you, Gresh, for everything.
Captain Gresh provided excellent historical and background information about the area, along with insights into the local wildlife. Getting up close to the Morris Island lighthouse was a unique experience.
Captain Gresh, a local, was fantastic and truly the highlight of our Charleston trip. His knowledge of the area, history, and wildlife was impressive. He was very accommodating to us and our one-year-old golden retriever. Morris Island was beautiful and peaceful. We spotted many dolphins throughout the charter. Captain Gresh took his time, making the experience very enjoyable. I will definitely book again. Reach out to him; you won't regret it. Support your local guide!
The boat ride with Capt Gresh was the best part of our trip. We spotted dolphins and even a bald eagle. We will certainly book again on our next visit.
