As locals who have lived in North Charleston for over 20 years, my wife and I were surprised to discover paddle boarding, even though we've frequently visited Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and Folly Beach. Our experience with Charleston SUP Safaris was fantastic. The staff were friendly and responsive, and our guide Hailey provided excellent instructions for paddle boarding while being very approachable. Although we didn't spot any dolphins, Hailey made a genuine effort to take us around Folly River in search of them. I highly recommend giving this a try, whether you're a local or a visitor.
JD was fantastic and incredibly informative. He made it easy for us novice paddle boarders to pick up the skills quickly. We even saw dolphins during the tour! The location was excellent, and they also recommended a great lunch spot nearby. The staff was very friendly, making it a wonderful overall experience. I highly recommend it.
We signed up at the last minute for a paddleboarding adventure. Five young adults were eager to try it out, and it turned out to be an excellent experience. They truly enjoyed it, and the team was fantastic.
Our experience yesterday with Haily as our guide was exceptional. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and fun, making it a million times better than I had anticipated for the kids and me. We also spotted dolphins, which added to the excitement. The atmosphere here perfectly embodies what Folly Beach is all about. As locals, we have many options, but we will definitely return.
Celebrating our wedding anniversary, my husband and I chose the paddle board experience, which turned out to be spectacular. It was easily our favorite activity in Charleston. Our guide was excellent and provided great information. The sunset and dolphins were absolutely incredible, creating a unique and memorable experience.

This experience comes highly recommended. We had a 10 and 11-year-old with us, and as seniors, we felt fully supported. Linsey did an excellent job in ensuring the kids felt confident and at ease. She kept a close eye on all five of us to prioritize safety and enjoyment. This is a professional service ideal for beginners looking for lessons followed by practice. There was even a water break and rest halfway through.
I have prior experience with stand-up paddleboarding, but we opted for a lesson since my friend was a beginner. The instruction was outstanding, and I picked up several tips that greatly improved my skills. Although the weather wasn't ideal at our booked time, the team promptly checked the forecast and recommended a later session. We ended up enjoying a lovely day out on the water. I strongly recommend this company for both novices and seasoned paddlers.

As absolute beginners, we've tried SUP/Paddleboarding twice, both times with Kate as our guide. She is an excellent instructor—fun, safe, and very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. During our first outing with our kids, the instructors ensured they were safe, especially with the strong current. We had an amazing time and will definitely return. Highly recommend!
