Having a private driver was a fantastic experience. The vehicle was new and well-maintained. Ian demonstrated a solid understanding of the Highway and drove cautiously.
Ian is an excellent driver, ensuring safety and comfort with his extensive experience and knowledge of the Arctic Circle route. Our journey took us through a mystical forest with limited visibility and icy roads. Although the road had become muddy and slippery after recent rain, Ian managed the vehicle skillfully. This remote highway lacks cell service, so we relied on walkie-talkies and a satellite phone. We learned that the road turns dusty in summer and icy in winter; during our trip, we encountered muddy and slippery paths. We made a stop at the Yukon camp, which was clean and welcoming, making it a necessary break after a long drive. Initially, the car appeared somewhat dirty, but by the tour's end, it was completely brown and muddy. Exploring the Arctic Circle along the Dalton Highway is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience; while the private tour was pricey, it offered great flexibility. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the northern lights that night due to low visibility.

This experience was truly remarkable and I highly recommend it. The private tour allows you to explore at your own speed while seeing more attractions. Ian, our fantastic tour guide, was very attentive and provided a wealth of information.
I recommend opting for a private tour. It allowed us to relax with the assurance of having a professional with us. Our guide was excellent and provided a great experience.
This trip was incredible. We enjoyed a comfortable and safe journey with an exceptional guide, Ian. His knowledge of Alaskan history, wildlife, and weather is impressive, and he drives expertly in a well-equipped vehicle. While communicating with truckers via CB radio, he showed respect and kindness. The music made our ride fun, and we loved singing along, experiencing the best carpool karaoke, which Ian joined in on too. The tour showcased a variety of ecological biomes, making it consistently interesting. The overall experience was accommodating, safe, and entertaining. I highly recommend taking a tour with Ian. Thank you so much, Ian. The Grants of Enumclaw.
We had an amazing experience as a family. Our guide Ian was fantastic, driving us in a comfortable vehicle suitable for all five of us. He had engaging conversations, vast knowledge, and demonstrated excellent driving skills on the Dalton Highway. Visiting this unique part of the world was unforgettable, and we truly appreciate Ian for making our trip safe and enjoyable throughout.
Our Arctic Circle tour with Ian was truly unforgettable. From the outset, he was warm, considerate, and genuinely attentive, making us feel completely comfortable. Ian provided an excellent overview of the region, sharing engaging stories that enriched our experience. His patience and commitment were exceptional—he ensured we had plenty of opportunities to witness the Northern Lights, never hurrying us, and maintaining a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Traveling with our 7-year-old can be tricky at times, but Ian was wonderful with him—engaging, kind, and ensuring he was excited and comfortable throughout the journey. Seeing our son so joyful made this trip even more meaningful. Thanks to Ian, this experience was more than just a tour; it was a memorable adventure we will treasure. We wholeheartedly recommend him.
This tour was an incredible experience. Our guide Ian was not only an excellent driver but also very knowledgeable about the journey and the Arctic Circle. He displayed professionalism and made the trip enjoyable. I would highly recommend this must-do adventure.
We had a fantastic day with Ian. He tailored the trip to accommodate our schedule with our 3.5-year-old daughter. We enjoyed stops for Rebecca to play in the snow, along with plenty of breaks to stretch and take in the sights. I highly recommend this tour. It works best for those arriving between 11 PM and 2 AM, as it typically starts between 1 and 2 PM. It's a great transition into a full tour experience, and during the summer, we loved watching the sun set around midnight at the end of our day.
