Driving along the Dalton Highway was an incredible adventure. It truly ranks among the best experiences we've had. Our guide was highly skilled and ensured we enjoyed stunning views, captured great photos, and savored an amazing dinner at Yukon River Camp. This trip is highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
I couldn't have made this trip alone, as there was no internet access. I relied on Starlink internet at a gift shop near the Yukon River. The journey from Fairbanks is quite long, but Jessica, our tour guide, did an excellent job and ensured my safety. We finally reached the Arctic Circle, and I truly appreciate this experience. I love Alaska.
For anyone eager to witness the stunning Aurora, this tour is perfect. Sultan, our friendly guide, enthusiastically shares his expertise and ensures you have the best chance to see the lights during the 12-hour adventure in his comfortable van. Regular breaks are included, and I was fortunate to see four vibrant auroras. This was the best experience I've had and I highly recommend it.
I had a wonderful experience and would strongly recommend it. Our guide, Sultan, provided thorough explanations during the tour, was very amiable, and captured stunning photos of the Northern Lights.
The journey was lengthy yet truly remarkable. Our guide Shannon not only drove safely but also shared a wealth of knowledge. We were fortunate to witness the northern lights, and Shannon assisted us in capturing fantastic photos. I highly recommend this experience.
We want to highlight our guide, Jessica. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and well-prepared. Jessica kept us informed about our route and what to expect. Sadly, we weren’t able to see the Northern Lights, but Jessica made every effort to help us spot them by frequently stopping to check. Her driving was very safe; the snowy and icy highway conditions could have been risky, but we always felt secure. In terms of clothing, it’s essential to check the weather beforehand. It was -11 degrees, and we wore thermals, coats, gloves, and scarves, which kept us quite comfortable. The only downside was that, due to the extreme cold, all windows except for the windshield and front side were iced over on the inside, obstructing our view. We attempted Jessica's suggestion of scraping with a credit card, but it didn't prove effective. Perhaps using shaving cream or having isopropyl alcohol and rags for cleaning would be more helpful. This experience was a bucket list item we won't forget, and it was absolutely worth it.
Jessica was incredible. I had a wonderful tour and gained a lot of knowledge from her. She is very knowledgeable about Alaska, the landscape, and the auroras. It was a safe and comfortable experience. I was initially anxious about the lack of service and transport, but it turned into an exciting adventure, and it was comforting to have such a great guide. This tour is definitely worth experiencing.
My experience with this tour agency was disappointing. We faced several issues with two separate bookings. For our latest excursion, it was canceled only two hours before the start due to a driver emergency, which, while understandable, left us frustrated as there was no time to adjust our plans. They could not provide alternatives or assist us in rebooking. Earlier, we had booked another tour and encountered difficulties as well. We were promised a call or email with our pickup time, but received nothing. On the day of the tour, despite multiple attempts, I could not get in touch with anyone and received no callbacks. My group waited around 30 minutes in our hotel lobby, uncertain of what was happening, until a driver finally showed up. Once in the van, we learned that none of the other guests had received their pickup details either. While I recognize unexpected issues can arise, the overall lack of communication and organization led to a very unsatisfactory experience. I do not recommend this company.
We went on the Arctic Circle tour with Shannon as our guide. She made the experience engaging and drove the Dalton Hwy with confidence, which eased our minds. My friend and I appreciated her company. Caitlin, who handled the social media photos, also provided great pictures and was very informative. We would happily book another tour with Alaska Wildlife Tours.
The experience was truly dreadful and filled with problems. The driver withheld tea, coffee, water, and snacks that were supposed to be provided, leaving us without any refreshments on the 200-mile journey. The van was outdated and in poor condition, producing constant noise, and the interior was poorly maintained, even lacking fixed safety handles. The seating arrangement made it uncomfortable, especially for the eight senior citizens on board who faced significant physical challenges. This trip was far from enjoyable; it felt more like an exhausting ordeal. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
