This evening tour begins with a scenic drive from Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs Resort. Upon arrival, guests can explore the Ice Museum, which showcases intricate ice sculptures and artistry. Afterward, there’s an opportunity to dine at the resort restaurant or, for those looking to maximise their soak in the mineral-rich hot springs, bring along snacks for a lighter option. The outdoor hot springs offer a unique experience under the night sky surrounded by the Alaskan wilderness.
Following your soak, the tour moves to prime locations for Northern Lights viewing. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, your guide will monitor conditions and share insights throughout the evening. Pickup occurs between 4:30 and 5:30 PM, with a late return around 2 AM, allowing flexibility to stay out longer if the aurora is particularly active.

Gina from AK Bucketlist created an unforgettable experience for us. She and her tour guide friends pursued stunning Auroras that appeared directly above us. It truly exceeded my expectations. We also visited Chana hot springs, which was unique—enjoying hot water over 100 degrees with frozen hair. The only enhancement could have been a nice glass of wine. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and Gina was great!
The experience was truly remarkable. Our guide ensured we had excellent views of the northern lights and moose sightings and was very well-informed about the outdoors. The tour with Gina was fantastic. She came to our house to pick us up, ensured we saw a moose, and shared great information throughout the trip. She was especially helpful at the springs, and on the return journey, she found the ideal spot at just the right moment to see the dancing northern lights. I was relieved not to have to drive to Chena Hot Springs on that long, icy road. I would absolutely do this again. Gina was wonderful. This is a must-do experience in Alaska.
