Two to three hours at a cozy Alaskan cabin with snacks — great views of the aurora borealis if the weather permits, about 40 minutes from Fairbanks.
A visit to the Husky Lodge, located just 40 minutes from Fairbanks, offers a chance to witness the aurora borealis from a scenic ridge. The experience lasts two to three hours, providing access to a warm cabin with unlimited hot cocoa, coffee, tea, and snacks.
Weather conditions can affect visibility, and while seeing the aurora cannot be guaranteed, the atmosphere in the cozy setting is generally enjoyable. If you're keen on capturing the moment, photos with the aurora can be arranged for an additional fee. Note that cancellations happen only due to severe weather conditions; otherwise, the tour runs as scheduled. It's advisable to dress warmly for the Alaskan night.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to see the Northern Lights because of the weather, but Michi really did his best. He displayed a wealth of knowledge and demonstrated his extensive experience.
Michi is very knowledgeable and friendly. His yurt is beautiful, cozy, and warm, providing a comfortable experience. He has great expertise about the northern lights and knows how to find them effectively.
Householder is a pleasant individual who will guide you on adjusting your phone settings to capture stunning photos of the Northern Lights.
Michi was an excellent host, full of knowledge and readily available to assist. He had a deep understanding of the Northern Lights and offered great help with our iPhones for capturing photos. I really enjoyed his lodge.
This was an excellent tour. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable, and the cabin was wonderful. The highlight was definitely witnessing the Aurora multiple times between 10 PM and 2 AM.
I highly recommend this tour company for an unforgettable experience. Everything was seamless, comfortable, and truly magical from start to finish. We were promptly picked up from the Westmark in Fairbanks and driven about 50 minutes outside the city to an ideal viewing spot. The lodge was warm and inviting, comfortably holding around 20–25 guests, with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available to enjoy while we waited for the aurora. When the aurora borealis appeared, it was incredible. The sight of the lights dancing in the sky was truly breathtaking. Our guide, Michi, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and obviously passionate about his work. He monitored the skies closely and informed us when to step outside for the best views, which made a significant difference. This tour perfectly combined comfort and adventure. If you're going to Fairbanks and want to see the northern lights, this is definitely the best way to do it.
This was a fantastic experience. The owner was incredibly kind, and the location for viewing the lights was outstanding. I also appreciated the convenient pick-up and drop-off service.
Experiencing the aurora from a lodge was fantastic. We signed up for this on our arrival day in Fairbanks, and after a long flight, we didn’t want to spend more hours in a van. Michi, the owner, picked us up from our hotel around 9:30 pm, although we faced a minor setback when the van got a flat tire. Michi handled it smoothly, arranging a backup van and driver, and we were back on track within thirty minutes. The lodge was inviting, providing cookies and hot drinks upon our arrival. We were lucky to see aurora activity right away (KP index 7), which continued throughout our stay. Michi shared tips on using night mode for photos and guided us to the best spots for viewing the aurora, showcasing his expertise in predicting its peaks. He was an excellent host, and a restroom was available. Overall, this was a wonderful way to conclude our first day in Fairbanks, and I highly recommend this tour.
The hospitality was exceptional. The lodge was comfortable, and the hosts were very knowledgeable. They were accommodating to our needs, even assisting us in navigating icy areas. The viewing was fantastic, and we captured excellent Aurora photos with our iPhones.
It was an amazing experience at a reasonable price, including pickup. We had a fantastic time at the Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Springs, and we were thrilled to see the Aurora on our final night. I participated for two consecutive days, and there were other Japanese travelers both times. The organization was excellent, and everyone was incredibly kind and made a genuine effort to create unforgettable moments.
