07This full day excursion to Pico takes about 8-9 hours, during which you will see most of the highlights of the neighboring Pico island. The tour is perfect for those visitors of Faial who only spend a couple of days in the Triangle but want to visit Pico without too much stress. The Pico, a first impression tour is an all inclusive trip from your accommodation in Faial, including the ferry transfers, to the main landmarks of Pico. Depending on the ferry schedules you will leave from Faial at around 9 a.m. and return in the late afternoon at around 7 p.m. At lunch time we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Pico.
08The specie we mostly see during our activity is the Blue Sharks and you will enjoy to swim with them at their own natural habitat or look at them from the boat. Blue Sharks are very curious and pass very close to the boat, spend long periods of time surface swimming, just floating at the surface or in the boat you will experience very close interactions with these beauties. A very friendly species and one of the most beautiful animal around. We also happen to see Mako sharks, the fastest shark of the Ocean ! The activity have a maximum of 6 people on board to insure that marine life is comfortable and to provide closer interactions with the animals. 09Hiking around the Caldeira is an experience you should not miss out if you visit Faial. This collapsed volcanic cone is one of the main landmarks of Faial. With 2 km in diameter it is an impressive reminder of the force of nature. The trail around the perimeter is about 7 km long and can be done in two to three hours. The hike around the Caldeira is physically easy, but those suffering from vertigo might find a couple of well secured passages a bit of a challenge. This hike is only worthwhile to be done if the weather is clear and the wind is not too strong. You will be rewarded with stunning views of the neighboring islands and the untouched nature.

12Hiking along the Levada, an abandoned water line, propels you into a completely different world. As if you were in the setting of Jurassic Park, just the Dinos are missing. The hike along the Levada can also be done if the weather is not perfect. The hike along the Levada is physically easy, but be ready to encounter some wet passages and pass through a short, but dark tunnel. The hike takes about 3 to 4 hours, due to the nature of the trail, the way back will be on the same route.
