Having studied at the University of Oregon, I feel a deep connection to this place. My love for Bandon by the Sea, a charming little town, began during a class called "Walk on the Oregon Coast." The impact of that class led me to spend countless weekends camping by the coast, reading War & Peace in the rain, exploring lighthouses, and enjoying chowder and marionberry pie at Mo's. The true magic lies in the ability to relax and embrace the ocean's rhythm; it captures the essence of time standing still, reminiscent of Neil Peart's words. No matter where I go, the Oregon Coast remains my sanctuary, much like the comfort of worn bluejeans and a cozy sweater — it’s where I regain my sense of self.
Initially, I was unsure about this tour due to the limited reviews, but the guide was incredibly knowledgeable. The scenery was breathtaking, and we visited many beautiful beaches. He took us to hidden spots I never knew about. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
My husband and I frequently take this route, and we still appreciate the stunning views each time. The road climbs out of Florence, featuring many curves and scenic glimpses of the sea. There are plenty of pullouts and viewpoints to enjoy, as well as short drives down to the ocean. In the summer, travel can be slow due to tourist traffic, and the typical journey to Newport takes just over an hour. We highly recommend stopping along the way to admire the beautiful coastline, as the ocean looks different with each season. We've traveled this route many times in various months, and while there can be small construction areas, the waits are usually brief.
The first two days were windy and chilly, yet the views were incredible. We enjoyed a variety of sites including lighthouses, blowholes, rugged shores, tidal pools, and beautiful beaches along the coast. Although some tidal pools looked similar from afar, observing the life beneath the waves up close was captivating. Everyone we encountered was friendly and engaging. This was a remarkable journey to a distinctive area of our wonderful country.
I was truly impressed by the tour guide's extensive knowledge. The emphasis on the coastline was particularly remarkable. Thanks for providing such an excellent tour.
Jay was an excellent guide, very friendly and well-informed. Thank you, Andy.
The wrong filter was installed on our e450, leading to the bus overheating. They refused to take responsibility and stated we would need to hire a lawyer to reclaim our costs for towing and repairs. This is the worst customer service I've ever encountered.
We drove the Pacific Coast Highway from Florence to Seaside along the Oregon Coast, and the scenery was stunning. We made several stops and spent the night in both Florence and Seaside. Even though we traveled in late July, the nights were quite chilly, especially in Florence, with daytime highs around the mid-60s and strong winds.
$750? Seriously? No lunch, dinner, or drinks included? This feels like a blatant rip-off. Charging over $5000 just to transport 8 people in a van for a day, only providing bottled water and general admission to the sea lion caves, is unbelievable. It's hard to fathom how anyone would accept this. Disappointing.
