This UNESCO-recognized natural reserve features a unique ecosystem and is one of the few locations globally where the sea extends deep into the desert. The tranquil water can only be accessed by traversing rolling dunes, as it is not reachable by road. According to UNESCO, Khor Al Adaid is noted for its "remarkable landscape" and offers "world-class scenic beauty." This area hosts a distinct set of wildlife, including several species that are rare or threatened globally, such as turtles. Khor Al Adaid is also home to notable bird species of national and regional significance, including long-distance migrant waterfowl during winter.
