What a wonderful day! Everything proceeded as described. The staff was both entertaining and professional. I appreciated the continuous updates regarding transfer durations, restroom breaks, and meal times. The lunch was held in a stunning location and was extremely tasty. Just a heads up: the ladies serving lunch will request a tip, so make sure to have enough for the driver, boat crew, and lunch staff. I just wished for a bit more snorkeling and less time spent at the restaurant. We spotted dolphins and a vast array of fish while snorkeling. The sea was rather choppy, so take medication if you’re prone to seasickness.
This day trip was absolutely fantastic and surpassed all my expectations. We booked it through our hotel the night before, and our friendly driver picked us up at 7:30 AM. The itinerary was explained clearly at each stage in multiple languages as needed. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, making sure that no request was too much trouble. The snorkeling gear was of high quality, and they took the time to ensure a proper fit. Sliders were provided for the short walk over the rocks to the island. We had an incredible experience when a pod of dolphins played in the wake of the Dhow just before reaching the reef. The snorkeling briefing was thorough, and guides accompanied us in the water to ensure everyone's safety. Those who were anxious or less confident wore life jackets, and the guides had floats available for anyone needing assistance. The reef was stunning, filled with vibrant fish, and the guides helped us spot elusive creatures like the octopus, moray eel, and stingrays. At one point, they even called us away from the reef for the astonishing experience of swimming alongside the pod of dolphins. It was truly remarkable. After two snorkeling sessions, we cruised on the Dhow to Wasini Island, where we enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch and a warm welcome from the ladies. We had time to unwind in the beautiful environment before a short boat ride back to the mainland. The crew was exceptionally attentive, ensuring our towels were neatly folded for us. A taxi was waiting at the jetty to take us back to the hotel. This excursion was completely seamless, exciting, and fun. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience.
The entire experience was well-structured, from the hotel pickup to our return. We enjoyed an extensive snorkeling session with a guide, so be sure to bring a hat to shield yourself from the sun. Additionally, the cave visit at the end of the day offered a fascinating historical insight, and it’s a good idea to have some shillings on hand for the association.
We had a fantastic day thanks to the team, with flawless organization from the moment we were picked up until we were dropped off. The snorkeling experience covered two sites and we appreciated that guides were available for those who needed support. They highlighted interesting marine life that we might have overlooked, such as cottons and calamari. While sailing to the island, we were accompanied by dolphins, and they approached us while we were at the reef. Lunch was served at a beautiful island restaurant run by the company. Since we couldn't disembark at the main jetty due to high tide, we took a brief 7-minute jungle walk to reach it, so wearing sturdy shoes is a good idea to navigate the roots, even though the distance is short, the ground can be uneven. The lunch was delicious, featuring soup and chapati, followed by a crab and seafood main course with various sides. We also enjoyed some fruit, cake, and refreshing lemongrass tea, along with wine and beer being offered. Overall, our day was thoroughly enjoyable and we are grateful to the entire team.
I had an incredible experience; the entire team was friendly and ensured our safety while boating, diving, and snorkeling. The Indian Ocean is stunning, and witnessing the dolphins almost daily was a highlight. Thank you for everything.
Our extended family, with members ages 75 to 4, faced a poorly organized experience. Hotel pickup was fine, and we boarded the dhow with decent sun cover. The refreshment provided was minimal—some dry cake and juice served in unwashed cups. We received snorkeling gear that looked worn and slightly dirty, prompting us to use cleaning wipes. Although we confirmed the availability of suitable gear for our kids, the options were limited, and the masks did not fit well, fortunately, we had spare goggles. The snorkeling experience was chaotic; we stopped at a crowded site where it was difficult to stay together or locate our guide amidst many other groups. The reef appeared to be in poor health, with few fish and corals, and identifying our boat became challenging due to the current and numerous similar vessels. No staff member accounted for passengers getting on or off the boat, which raised safety concerns about leaving someone behind. We were excited to see dolphins on the return trip. The lunch on the island was nice, but my father faced pressure to try a dish he didn't want, coming from the owner, I believe. Accessing the island required navigating in a small dinghy, which was somewhat treacherous, especially for our older and younger family members. The ride back was cramped and rough, highlighting safety hazards if missteps occurred. As a certified diver, I was relieved I didn't book a dive, as the snorkeling safety left much to be desired. I've noticed that the owners do not effectively address criticism, often blaming reviewers instead.
One of the most memorable experiences in Mombasa. We thoroughly appreciated the service, from the pickup at home to Shimoni, as well as the boat crew and lunch; everything was excellent.
This was an amazing day that was flawlessly organized from beginning to end. The communication prior to the trip was clear and helpful, and everything ran smoothly on the day itself. Shortly after boarding the boat, we were fortunate to see dolphins, and soon enough, we were snorkeling. We encountered large sea turtles, schools of fish, and enjoyed the remarkable experience of dolphins swimming around us, which was truly unforgettable. The lunch exceeded our expectations, served in a lovely location with friendly local staff and tasty food. We concluded the day by returning to the port through an intriguing cave, coming back around ten hours after departing. We genuinely have no complaints. The experience of swimming with turtles and dolphins will remain vivid in our memories. I highly recommend it.
It was a warm day, and everything was organized perfectly. I highly recommend this tour for a great snorkeling experience.
The snorkeling experience was enjoyable, but I felt let down by the minimal education regarding the reefs, the park, wildlife, and conservation. The staff did not recommend or provide reef-safe sunscreen, which could have enhanced the experience significantly.
