• Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. They will pick you up at the scheduled time and drive to Palampur, known as the Tea Capital of North India. • Shri Chamunda Devi Mandir, also referred to as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, is a temple dedicated to Shri Chamunda Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Durga. This temple was built around 400 years ago to facilitate the worship of devotees. • Located at the base of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range, the Dorzong Monastic Institute (DMI) is a designated space for studying and practicing Buddha Dharma. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers from Dharamshala, near Gopalpur village, and was established by the Eighth Kyabje Dorzong Rinpoche. The picturesque setting, surrounded by cedar forests, was intentionally selected to create a sanctuary for preserving Buddhism and supporting the teachings of the Drukpa Kagyu community. • The tour begins with a presentation covering the history of the estate and a brief overview of the tea growing, manufacturing, sorting, and tasting processes. Following this, you will take a guided stroll around the plantation, where insights about the cultivation and care of tea bushes will be shared. You will have the opportunity to learn about and practice plucking 'two leaves and a bud'. Afterward, you will visit the factory to understand the tea manufacturing process, including the stages of withering, rolling, fermenting, drying, and sorting, while also engaging with workers. Additionally, discover how hand-made green tea is produced in traditional woks, known as 'kadhais'. Finally, participate in a Tea Tasting session to explore the different flavors, appearances, and aromas of various grades of tea produced at the factory throughout the season. This session will be led by knowledgeable staff who will present a selection of freshly brewed teas for sampling. • Visit the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery, which supports Himalayan women in the Drukpa Kagyu Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
