• Dharamsala serves as the residence of the Dalai Lama, the Buddhist leader who conducts his government in exile from this location. This town located at the base of the Dhauladhar ranges is an ideal spot to engage with the rich Tibetan culture. You will participate in a spiritual pilgrimage through the Tibetan Buddhist Circuit tour, learning about the fascinating aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, culture, architecture, and history. You will meet your guide at the entrance of the Norbulingka Institute, which will be your starting point. Your guide will accompany you as you explore the Norbulingka Institute, Gyuto Monastery, Dolma Ling Nunnery, and several surrounding sites. The Norbulingka Institute, established in 1988 with the aim of preserving Tibetan culture, literature, and art, was created by the Dalai Lama and is named after the Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas in Lhasa, Tibet. • The tour includes a visit to Dolma Ling, a Tibetan nunnery. Dolma Ling Nunnery and Institute is a non-sectarian facility located in the Kangra valley near Dharamsala, housing approximately 240 nuns. Officially inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on December 8, 2005, it is fully supported by the Tibetan Nuns Project and stands as the first institute dedicated to higher Buddhist education for nuns from various Tibetan traditions. • You will also visit Gyuto Monastery, founded in Tibet in 1474, known for its teachings on Tantric meditation, rituals, and philosophy. Gyuto Tantric Monastery (Gyuto Dratsang) was established to preserve and promote the teachings of the great Teacher Tsongkhapa. Your guide will help you uncover stories about these temples and impart knowledge along the way. After gaining a deeper understanding of Tibetan culture and architecture, the tour will conclude at the same location where it began.
