What's the itinerary?+
• In the morning, you will be picked up for a tour of Dharamshala accompanied by your guide for the day. First, the itinerary includes a visit to McLeodGanj, also referred to as ‘Little Lhasa’. This area is the location of the Tibetan government-in-exile and the residence of the Dalai Lama. You will have the opportunity to walk around the town and see the main temple where the Dalai Lama hosts audiences when present. Additionally, you will view the Dalai Lama's residence and explore the nearby market known for its Tibetan handicrafts. After McLeodGanj, proceed to the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, a striking church constructed in the neo-gothic style in 1852. The church is noted for its exquisite Belgian stained glass windows and is the burial site of one of the Viceroys of British India, Lord Elgin. • Following this, enjoy a walk around Dal Lake, a scenic spot surrounded by Deodar forests. There is also a Hindu temple dedicated to Durveshwar Mahadev in the vicinity. Next, visit the Tibetan Children's Village, a charitable organization supporting orphans and young refugees from Tibet. The focus of the school here is on offering quality modern education alongside an introduction to Tibetan Buddhist heritage. • After the morning activities, your guide will bring you to a local restaurant for lunch (beverages are not included). Post-lunch, visit the Norbulingka Institute, which is dedicated to preserving traditional Tibetan art. The institute features an exhibition hall and allows you to observe artisans at work. At the conclusion of the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel.
