What's the itinerary?+
• You will be collected from your hotel in the morning and transported to the town of Kangra, located 15 miles from Dharamshala. The journey to Kangra takes approximately one hour. You will proceed to the 8th century Masroor Rock Temples, a group of intricately carved rock temples situated about 30 miles from Kangra. These temples are the only ones of their kind in North India, carved from a single rock, and a large pond is located nearby. The temple grounds offer vast views of the snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains. • The next stop is Kangra Fort, associated with the Katoch dynasty, which is said to be the oldest surviving dynasty in India. The fort is perched on a steep hill and is strategically positioned at the meeting point of the River Majhi and River Banganga. Although it is largely in ruins, the fort provides impressive views of the surrounding landscape. Following this, there will be a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant (drinks not included). After lunch, you will visit the Mata Brajeshwari Temple, which was reconstructed in 1905 after being destroyed by a major earthquake. According to the Hindu epic Mahabharata, the original temple was established by the Pandavas following a divine vision from Goddess Durga, who instructed them to construct a temple in her honor. It is said that the temple once housed vast wealth, including gold and silver, before being repeatedly plundered by invaders. After exploring the temple, you can spend some time at the local market. Finally, you will be taken back to Dharamshala and dropped off at your hotel.
