Three hours of meditational hiking followed by an organic homemade dinner at a local home, with private photos available on request.
This activity begins with a three-hour hike in Cangshan Mountain, focusing on meditational techniques to enhance health and wellness. You'll learn proper breathing to optimize your pace as you enjoy the stunning natural surroundings.
After the hike, the experience continues at a local home where you can interact with a friendly cat named DUMBLEDORE while your organic dinner is prepared. If you're up for more, a post-dinner stroll through Dali ancient town allows for exploration of interesting tea houses, cafes, or cocktail bars. Comfortable shoes are recommended for both the hike and the evening wander.

Reviews
This was an incredible experience, truly one of the best I've had. Liya tailored the hike to our abilities and shared a wealth of information throughout. The views at the summit are stunning. She was warm and inviting, preparing delicious meals and making the whole experience enjoyable. I feel I've made a genuine friend in Dali. I highly recommend this A+ experience for a more intimate connection with Dali, while enjoying the nature and getting some exercise.
Cangshan appears close from Dali, but stepping onto the mountain transforms your experience entirely. The altitude and fresh air make a visit feel peaceful and immersive. Start from Dali Old Town around 8:30 or 9:00 AM. The easiest way to get to Cangshan is by taxi or ride-hailing, which takes about 20 minutes to the cable car stations. For a classic, relatively easy hike, use either the Gantong Cableway or Zhonghe Cableway, which takes you to the mid-mountain level where the main trails begin. The cable car ride enhances the experience as you ascend. The distant view of Erhai Lake comes into focus, and Dali below becomes quieter. The air also gets cooler and fresher. Once you reach the upper station, start your hike on the Jade Belt Road, an iconic and gentle trail along the mountainside. The path is accessible, with no steep climbs, allowing for a steady walk through the forest, rock formations, and various viewpoints. The mountain surrounds you, while the lake is constantly visible below. As you hike, your pace naturally slows. The temperature drops, and the sounds of the city recede. Frequently, you'll find openings in the trees revealing expansive views over Erhai, giving a different spatial perspective compared to the lakeside. It feels less like sightseeing and more like entering another layer of Dali. Plan to hike for two to three hours at a leisurely speed, pausing whenever a view captures your attention. There are small resting spots along the way to sit, take photos, or enjoy the mountain air. By early afternoon, start heading back to the cable car station for your descent. You can return to Dali Old Town for a late lunch or relax briefly before continuing your day. A simple one-day itinerary could be to leave the old town around 8:30 AM, arrive at the cable car by 9:00, spend the late morning hiking the Jade Belt Road, and return around 2:00 PM. Don't forget to bring a light jacket, as mountain temperatures are cooler than in the city. Comfortable walking shoes are crucial, along with water and snacks. Be mindful that mountain weather can change quickly, so checking conditions before you leave is beneficial. Cangshan isn't about a strenuous climb; it's all about perspective. Up high, Dali feels more tranquil, expansive, and interconnected with the surrounding landscape.
