1The park is located only 45 minutes from Cuenca. This lagoon system, with over 230 lakes, invites you to enjoy one of the nicest landscapes in South America. There are different ecosystems such as: Andean Mountain forest, Polylepis forest, paramo or grassland. You will have the chance to spot many interesting birds, even the endemic hummingbird of Cajas - the “Violet Throated Metaltail”- one of the most important birds in Ecuador. Also, on this tour you will see the beautiful Tit Like Dacnis, Blue Mantled Thornbill, Stout Billed Cinclodes, Tawny Antpitta, Spectacled Whitestar, Tyrian Metaltail, Gray Breasted Mountain Toucan, Andean Guan, and so much more.
2Embark on a charming tour of El Cajas National Park. Its haze-covered mountains hold stunning landscapes on every trail, from open meadows to forests full of life. In the middle of the tour, the silence is interrupted only by the murmur of the wind and the song of birds that accompany the traveler. The lagoons, with their serene waters, reflect the vastness of the sky and convey a peace difficult to forget. This scenario invites both adventure and contemplation, offering a perfect space to disconnect from the routine and connect with the essence of the environment at every moment.
3Discover Cuenca from its most iconic viewpoints: Turi, Ictocruz and El Calvario. Enjoy spectacular views, fresh air and the tranquility of nature while admiring the beauty of the city and the Andes from these points full of history and charm. A tour that will leave you speechless!
4Hike through the ecosystem of primary cloud forest, afterwards the intercontinental water division and finally take an amazing walk across the highlands to exprore the unique Polylepis Forest. The park includes approximately 768 lakes in an area of 70,533 acres. It is one of the most important water sources in Cuenca and Ecuador
5Enjoy a drive among beautiful ranches to reach El Chorro de Giron waterfall where we will hike through the cloud forest. Later we will visit Busa lake where we will do a hike around it.
6Enjoy the fascinating views and contrast of the Ecuadorian Andes and lowlands in our one-way flexible, convenient tour departing from Cuenca to Guayaquil including a visit to Cajas National Park, a local fruit market, and a cacao farm. Allowed 2 suitcases per person.
