Two hours on the water — cruise through Kings Bay, spot manatees with a local captain, and enjoy the sunset.
This two-hour cruise departs from the Paddletail Waterfront Lodge and focuses on wildlife viewing and sunset appreciation. You'll spend the first hour searching for manatees and learning about the local ecosystem from the captain, who knows the waters well.
As you approach sunset, the boat will slow down to allow for relaxation and enjoyment of the view before returning to the dock. Dress comfortably according to the weather, and don't forget your camera for this scenic maritime experience.

The tour was excellent. Our captain was wonderful and made an effort to ensure we spotted as many manatees as possible, even late in the afternoon.
This is a relaxing experience in a beautiful bay, where you might encounter dolphins, manatees, or even a bald eagle.
Booking a tour with this company is a must. We had an amazing time, thanks to the captain, who was truly exceptional. We enjoyed the sunset and spotted manatees while learning fascinating historical facts about the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The tour guide was excellent, engaging everyone with fantastic history and stories about the region. He was skilled at spotting wildlife and showed great care for both the environment and the animals.
The sunset on this cruise is unpredictable, as the captain can't forecast the weather. However, the highlight of the experience is the wealth of knowledge shared by the seasoned captains. Our captain, Glenn, genuinely enjoys educating others about the area, showing that this is much more than just work for him. You'll gain valuable insights and possibly enjoy a beautiful sunset as well. I would definitely participate again whenever I return to Crystal River.
I had an excellent experience with our guide, Captain Glenn, who clearly loves his work. He made sure everyone on the boat had a chance to see manatees and ospreys while providing valuable information. The group interacted well with him and each other, making for a fun evening.
The tour was exceptional, featuring a stunning sunset along with sightings of manatees and ospreys. I enjoyed learning about the area's history and the unique aspects of Crystal River.
Check-in was simple and the staff member was welcoming. I called ahead due to confusion over two listed addresses, and the correct one is 525 NW 7th Ave. The tour itself was enjoyable. The weather was great, and we spotted several manatees and waterfowl. However, this isn't strictly a "manatee sighting" tour since the water becomes calm after 3 pm, but we did catch glimpses of them with polarized sunglasses as they surfaced. The captain was engaging, sharing stories and experiences related to wildlife. A downside was a female participant who made several phone calls, disrupting the captain with her loud conversations. I think a rule against personal phone calls during tours would be beneficial. Despite that, I would recommend the tour as the price for the 90-minute boat ride was quite reasonable.
The trip was wonderful; we encountered dolphins, manatees, and various bird species. The sunset was less impressive due to the cloud cover. Captain Glenn was fantastic and shared his extensive knowledge.
I had a fantastic experience. The captain was wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. The boat was comfortably filled; it wasn't overcrowded. My only issue was that the seats were quite hard. I would have brought a cushion if I had been aware. My 96-year-old mother had a great time, but the seating was uncomfortable for her. I would consider going again if I had a cushion.
