This was an incredible experience! Captain Glenn and Sara were phenomenal. Even though we were visiting outside of manatee season and uncertain about seeing any, they ensured we encountered a few. We spent a long time up close with some manatees.
The best time to visit is from December to February, but we went at the end of March when most of the manatees had already departed and the water was not very clear. Despite this, Captain Mark and Guide Ross were excellent, and we were still able to spot a few manatees. Overall, it was a lovely experience.
We arranged a Manatee swim with Paddletail Water Adventures and had an incredible experience. Our guide, Sara, and Captain Dirty Mike were very informative, sharing insights about the manatees and guidelines for swimming with them. Learning about their habits and lifestyles was fascinating. The entire trip was wonderful, and we will certainly seek them out on our next visit.
Although the manatees had left, Ros made every effort to locate those still in Crystal River. We got off the boat twice to see a few. Swimming in Three Sisters Spring was truly an unforgettable experience.

Swimming in the springs alongside around seven manatees was a highlight of our vacation, shared with other families. Captain Steve and our guide Dani were exceptional, bringing a combined 39 years of manatee expertise. We visited during a season when only 1-3 manatees are typically spotted, and we’re eager to return in January/February 2027 to see many more. Plus, we received a USB with all our photos.
