Five hours, small group, guided boat tour — observe dugongs and visit a turtle sanctuary, includes lunch and snorkelling gear.
This five-hour excursion takes you from Coron to the seagrass meadows where dugongs feed. You’ll be part of a small group guided by trained spotters, allowing for a more personal interaction with wildlife while observing dugongs from the boat. If conditions are favourable, you can participate in guided snorkelling sessions with strict no-touch rules.
After lunch, you will visit a turtle sanctuary for a conservation briefing and a relaxed snorkelling session at the reef, conditions permitting. The tour includes hotel transfers within Coron Town Proper, all necessary permits and fees, quality snorkel gear, and a licensed crew. Keep in mind, wildlife sightings can't be guaranteed, but ethical practices ensure encounters are respectful and natural.

This tour is truly a must-do! I heard it was new, so we decided to give it a shot, and it did not let us down. We saw both a seacow and a turtle in one day. Thank you!
The day trip had potential to be enjoyable, but it was severely marred by a shocking incident on the beach where a man was violently hitting dogs with a nail-studded stick in front of others. This distressing sight made the atmosphere feel unsafe and ruined what could have been a relaxing outing. To make matters worse, there seemed to be no intervention or control in the area. Such situations should never occur, especially during a trip meant for enjoyment. I can't recommend this day trip until there are measures in place to prevent this kind of behavior.
The drive was quite interesting, but the driver and the greeter seemed inexperienced and unprepared. They made multiple pickups and only grabbed breakfast at the last minute, which delayed our departure by about 45 minutes. On the bright side, the boat was excellent and Kuya Gaspar was friendly, making an effort to engage with the guests, although others on the tour were rather shy. It was disappointing to discover that this tour could be purchased on the island or through hotels for 4500.
The Dugong trip was quite costly, taking nearly 12 hours from Coron to Busuanga and then onto a Bunka for the sea journey to where the Dugongs graze. The itinerary originally included snorkeling with the Dugongs first, followed by lunch and then snorkeling with turtles. However, visibility was poor, there was a strong current, and the ocean was quite choppy. The lunch offered was very basic, and the schedule became disorganized. By the time we snorkeled for Dugongs, many boats had arrived while we were with the turtles, which included just two small ones. Unfortunately, snorkelers were chasing the Dugongs, and divers from another boat swam carelessly above them without proper use of their equipment. My husband spotted one Dugong, but the water clarity made it difficult to see clearly. If the day had been better planned, with improved weather and a more appealing lunch, the experience could have been greatly enhanced.
I've traveled to Thailand many times and once to Vietnam, but this was my first trip to the Philippines. The journey was lengthy, and due to costs and current events, I chose Turkish Airlines instead of Emirates. Eventually, I secured a fantastic fare with ITA from Rome to Bangkok for 2000 euros, booked well in advance. Bangkok is always enchanting, and I stayed at the Novotel 20 Sukhumvit for 100 euros. While it may not be the Sofitel or the JW Marriott, it offers excellent value for money. My experience with ITA Airways was positive, boasting an excellent menu and dedicated staff. The initial four days were spent in Bangkok to recuperate from the 17-hour journey, including a day trip to Pattaya. Pattaya was not particularly impressive, mainly a place of curiosity best suited for those seeking adult entertainment. On the 8th day, I flew to Manila in just two and a half hours, staying overnight at the City Garden Grand Hotel. The rooftop restaurant on the 34th floor provided spectacular views of Manila at night, but the Filipino cuisine was disappointing compared to Thai or Chinese food. On the 9th day, I traveled to Coron and stayed at Baca Bay Resort, which was decent, with helpful staff and good value. The highlight was my first booked excursion: the Ultimate Tour, which was incredible and a must-do. Day 11 was for relaxing by the pool; however, the hotels I stayed in often lacked enough chairs and shade, making it uncomfortable in the heat. This issue extended to hotels like the Funny Lion, where competition for lounge chairs was fierce early in the day. On Day 12, I went on a second tour, the Island Tour, which was very good, though not quite as great as the Ultimate Tour. Following that, I flew to El Nido on the 13th and stayed at Sea Cocoon Hotel, which was noisy with inadequate staff. I initially planned to stay at Funny Lion but opted for this to save money and would not return. Day 14 saw a cancellation of my booked excursion due to high winds, leading to a combined tour B and C that provided beautiful views but was more suited to canoes, with limited snorkeling compared to the Ultimate Tour in Coron. The best option was undoubtedly Tour A, with the highlight being La Vanila, ideal for swimming with its calm waters and good facilities. Mactan should be avoided due to its overcrowded beaches and costly sunbeds. Regarding Coron and El Nido, the tours to stunning beaches and views are essential, though the towns themselves are unattractive and crowded, so staying outside is advisable. The sea, however, is beautiful. A surprise awaited in Moalboal, where swimming amidst a wall of sardines and giant turtles was extraordinary. Near my hotel, Quo Vadis, is a service that offers guided swims among the fish, which made the journey to Moalboal worthwhile
