Mt. Tapyas
Coron, Philippines

Mt. Tapyas is a granite mountain that rises 210 metres above Coron, offering sweeping views of the surrounding islands and the Sulu Sea. Reached by a steep trek of over 700 steps, it features a prominent cross at its summit that illuminates the skyline at night, making it a visual landmark in the area.
The climb is best undertaken early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat, and it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to ascend. The trailhead is a short ride from Coron town, where you can also explore local restaurants and the nearby Maquinit Hot Springs for a relaxing soak after your hike.
