It was a gorgeous day on the boat filled with rich history, interesting facts, and a tasty lunch. We made stops at Boldt Castle and the Rock Island Lighthouse, allowing ample time to explore. An excellent trip!
The boat tour lasted just about 5 hours, covering a full afternoon and included a pleasant bag lunch. The guide on board provided engaging and informative commentary throughout the ride. Exploring Boldt Castle was remarkable, with the 2+ hours spent there truly necessary. Additionally, the park service staff at Rock Island made the history of the Rock Island Lighthouse relatable, offering an intriguing and informative small group tour to the top of the lighthouse.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Thousand Islands, the lighthouse, and Boldt Castle. Our tour guide, Liam, was fantastic, providing a wealth of information in an engaging way. The captain added to the fun, and the lunch was fresh and perfectly portioned. We highly recommend this experience.
The boat was smaller, but the tour guide was excellent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. We would have appreciated an extra 30 to 60 minutes at Bolt Castle. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for our family of four with two young children.
We visited on opening day, marking our first experience, and it was wonderful. The staff were welcoming, and the lunch provided was lovely; we simply picked up our meal and drink before boarding, with the freedom to enjoy it anywhere. We were fortunate with the weather, and the sailing was quite smooth—perhaps due to fewer boats being out since it was early in the season. Boldt Castle is stunning and fascinating, and the tourism contributes to its restoration efforts, which, if completed, would make it even more beautiful. We wished we could have spent more time there, as there was much to explore. The lighthouse on a small island was enjoyable to visit, and our guide had a wealth of stories and information throughout the journey, while the captain kindly engaged with some children. The impressive mansions along the waterfront added to the overall experience. It truly was a perfect day.
It was a perfect day! Our guide, Brad, was fantastic—both fun and informative. The boat was comfortable and covered, and it had a bar and restrooms available.
This was an outstanding experience. Brad and the skipper effectively guided us through the river's shallow areas. Brad shared fantastic stories about the islands and their residents. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We experienced the Ultimate 1000 Island tour, which included visiting Boldt Castle and Rock Island, along with a picnic lunch over a 5-hour period. Kris was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and relatable, clearly enjoying her role. Although the boat faced some issues that caused a slight delay, the crew worked hard to ensure we received everything promised. Unexpected circumstances can arise, but the crew's efforts to correct them made a positive difference. The picnic lunch had a sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a drink, which was just okay. Overall, the wealth of information provided during the tour made it quite enjoyable, and I would recommend this tour. The tickets to both the castle and lighthouse were included, though the boathouse was not. While both locations were pleasant, time constraints prevented us from visiting the boathouse, but it can be reached by car independently.
We participated in the season's first tour, and the weather was stunning. The narrator provided a wealth of intriguing information, and the captain was both friendly and enjoyable. Having experienced larger tours before, we will definitely come back to Clayton Island Tours; they are truly excellent.
The trip was enjoyable, featuring an engaging narrative that offered a great overview of the region. Boldt Castle is certainly a site worth visiting.
