Our experience was fantastic, largely due to Captain Chuck and particularly Kendra. We arrived late because of a long border wait and missed our reserved tour. Kendra quickly helped us get on the next tour and refunded the price difference. She was also our guide, and despite being new to this tour, she did an excellent job sharing information and history about the sites. I highly recommend Clayton Island boat tours.
The captain and guide were exceptional, providing fascinating facts that created a captivating narrative from beginning to end. I was engaged the entire time!
The tour was excellent. We had perfect weather, and it was fascinating to visit islands we hadn't seen before. The narrator did a great job, and I really enjoyed the cruise. I recommend ensuring the microphone and speaker system is thoroughly checked before each tour.
We had an amazing experience on our tour. Captain Bryan and tour guide Bryan were both knowledgeable and engaging, sharing a wealth of fascinating information. The captain skillfully navigated to keep us away from rough waters. The tour included beautiful Canadian islands and homes, which was a highlight. We enjoyed delicious picnic lunches from a small sandwich shop located on the boat tour property, conveniently picked up from a refrigerator as we headed to the dock. It was truly a fantastic experience that I would strongly recommend. Just a note: the waters can get choppy, so it’s wise to take motion sickness medication before the tour.
We had an incredible experience. It wasn’t merely a round trip to Boldt Castle, but a genuine tour of the 1000 Islands area (and the Castle was impressive). Every bit was worth the cost and more. The captain, whom I referred to as Captain the whole time, and our guide Liam made for a fantastic duo.
This tour was truly enjoyable. The captain was very focused on his responsibilities, while our guide, Dennis, offered a wealth of knowledge and made the experience entertaining. Boldt Castle definitely justified the visit, though I would have liked more time to explore.
The experience could have been wonderful, but our reservation was never forwarded to the boat company. Therefore, when we arrived for the boat tour, there was no availability for us, despite having received multiple confirmations. It was very disappointing.
The tour was fantastic. We loved experiencing the islands up close and gaining insight into their history. Our guide (whose name escapes me) and Captain Skip provided excellent commentary filled with intriguing historical information about the different islands. A helpful tip: follow their advice and switch your phone to airplane mode while in Canadian waters. I initially turned mine off but later switched it back on to take a photo, only to receive notifications about roaming fees.
Our experience was a complete failure. The cruise company did not receive our confirmation or names, resulting in the cancellation of the boat. My relatives from North Carolina were highly disappointed with this situation. I am currently seeking a refund since my credit card has already been charged and I had purchased tickets online in advance. There was poor coordination between Viator and 1000 Islands Boat Cruise. I will not be using Viator in the future.
Despite a rainy start, the crew provided fleece blankets that kept us warm until the weather improved. My family used to camp in the 1000 Islands in the '70s, and it was nostalgic to be back. While it would have been interesting to see the renovations at Boldt Castle, our focus was on the Canadian and American Islands, mainly to admire the homes and local scenery. This tour offered an enjoyable glimpse into life along the St. Lawrence River rather than a historical account, filled with amusing local anecdotes. Our guide was a knowledgeable local who shared tales about the islands and their inhabitants, while the captain ensured our comfort and safety. The tour was reasonably priced at $28 for a 2.5-hour outing, especially on a sunny day, and we appreciated the option to bring our own snacks and drinks. The small group size made it easy to interact and ask questions. The meeting point was straightforward, with accessible parking at the dock, and booking online was a breeze. The boat was intimate and not overcrowded, making for a pleasant adventure. We highly recommend it! Shirley and Laryssa from Massachusetts.
