05One-day adventure — whitewater rafting followed by camping by the river with dinner and stargazing.
“This place is my favorite on Earth, filled with incredible people. That's why I often treat myself to a rafting trip for my birthday. This was my daughter’s and my third adventure with this company, and it was the best yet, thanks to our fantastic guide Ara and safety expert Squid Syd. We chose to upgrade to a raft and camp experience, which turned out to be a brilliant decision for around $100 more and provided us with invaluable memories. We began like any other trip, donning our gear before the guides transported us further up the river. This time, we enjoyed an additional 20 minutes of rafting due to the water levels. After a quick safety briefing, we set off, and Ara’s enthusiasm made the trip thrilling and enjoyable. The dynamic between her and another guide added to the fun, and Ara ensured we tackled the big rapids and got soaked. We paused for the renowned chicken fajita lunch at the second camp and then sailed through the next stretch. Even the bumpy return bus ride was exciting since we got to raft once more across a small wash before saying goodbye to the guests not camping with us. (A vehicle with decent clearance is advisable for the ride to camp.) Upon arrival, Ara served appetizers that made us feel welcome. After mingling a bit, we savored a fantastic dinner of steak and grilled veggies, topped off by strawberry shortcake. We spent some time by the fire before going to bed. The next morning, we awoke to the aroma of breakfast, and I enjoyed hot coffee while my daughter had hot chocolate. After a hearty breakfast with pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and fresh fruit, we reluctantly packed up and said our farewells. This trip was unquestionably the most amazing of our lives thus far. Thank you, Ara, Syd, James, Terrick, Amy, Aaron, and the rest of the team for making our experience unforgettable. Don’t forget to tip your guides.”— IronAdventureDad
06A 52-mile rafting adventure featuring Class IV rapids, stunning desert landscapes, and wildlife sightings, limited to 11 guests for a more serene experience.
“This trip was truly unforgettable, featuring thrilling rapids, stunning canyons, and diverse ecosystems. Our guides were exceptional, with Ellis sharing his extensive knowledge of local flora, fauna, and history. We even spotted three bald eagles. I felt like royalty camping, enjoying gourmet meals like chicken fajitas, steak, french toast, and eggs. The entire crew, including Ellis, Bible, Grant, and Sloan, was phenomenal, expertly managing to pack everything and ensuring we had a fantastic experience. They met all our needs and went above and beyond. I highly recommend Salt River Rafting and suggest the 5-day wilderness trip for a more immersive experience.”— gillianusn
07Two-hour guided tour of the haunted 1910 Jail, recounting tragic inmate stories and revealing paranormal evidence.
“The tour was quite affordable, which supports their operations. The guides were friendly and humorous. Although there wasn't much paranormal activity during our visit, learning about the jail's history was fascinating. The Trusties Room stood out as particularly eerie. We’re interested in joining them again for a longer ghost hunt or a courthouse tour. We opted for the 5pm one-hour tour, but I know they have several options available. Thank you for the experience! Be prepared for some surprises, as there are life-sized dolls in the beds.”— sophiawA7857EI
08Ten miles of class III-IV rapids, panoramic views of desert flora and red canyon walls, perfect for adventurous families looking for a memorable outdoor experience.
“Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed our river adventure, benefiting from excellent conditions with a pleasant water level at 3000 CFS. The canyon's beauty was awe-inspiring, and we were thrilled that it was open for excursions again this spring. The entire crew prioritized safety, demonstrated expertise, and was exceptionally friendly. Upon arrival, we were welcomed warmly and quickly took care of our waivers and permits before gearing up. After an in-depth lesson on commands and paddling techniques from our guide, Gato, we practiced in the water before starting our journey. Gato enriched our experience with her insights about the river and its native history throughout the day. She is a fantastic guide and incredibly enjoyable to be with. We're looking forward to seeing her in Colorado later this summer. At day’s end, we boarded a bus for a 30-minute ride back upstream. It was an exhilarating adventure; you're guaranteed to have a great time!”— Kate H
09A six-hour rafting trip through Salt River Canyon, suitable for all experience levels, led by a knowledgeable guide, with lunch provided.
“This was one of the best rafting experiences my wife and I have had. Our guide, Grant, along with Hanna from the safety raft, were both exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The canyon was stunning, making the entire trip enjoyable. We drove from Peoria, and the scenery was beautiful; without rafting, we wouldn't have explored that part of Arizona, which is definitely worth seeing. The drive offered great views of the desert and mountains. The full-day experience was fantastic, and lunch was delicious. Grant's expertise about the canyon and river made him an outstanding guide, and his rafting skills were impressive. Overall, this trip is a must-do and enhanced our visit to Arizona. We plan to do it again when we return.”— jimbo6545
