1Chester’s medieval streets witnessed real witch trials and barrel-dunkings centuries ago, but today they’re home to a different kind of magic. On this self-guided audio tour, you’ll follow the enchanted adventures from Evelyn Winter’s children’s book The Chester Witches, where thirteen-year-old Winona Wren and her spell-casting Granny transform the city’s dark history into whimsical storytelling wonderment. You’ll start at Chester High Cross, where four medieval streets converge, and follow an enchanted barrel’s chaotic path down Eastgate Street. You’ll pass beneath the iconic Eastgate Clock, wind through the Roman Amphitheatre, and discover how a mischievous barrel once flattened the mayor’s podium and sent enchanted flapjacks into song. You’ll continue along The Groves riverside promenade where Granny Wren’s magical market boat once bobbed, and to Billy Hobby’s Well, where maidens wished for husbands.
2Discover the Beatles’ story on this private full-day tour from Manchester, featuring exclusive access to the Casbah Coffee Club and a visit to Strawberry Field. Go beyond standard tours with extended time inside the Casbah Coffee Club—hosted by the Best family—where the Beatles first performed and their story truly began, long before the Cavern Club. Visit the Strawberry Field Visitor Centre, including the exhibition with John Lennon’s Imagine piano, explore the gardens, and walk through the bandstand with its iconic mosaic “Imagine” floor. Follow in the footsteps of the Beatles with photo stops outside their childhood homes, schools and Penny Lane, before experiencing the Cavern Club and Mathew Street. There is time to enjoy a drink or lunch at the historic Philharmonic Dining Rooms—John Lennon’s local and featured in Paul McCartney’s Carpool Karaoke. Travel in a luxury vehicle with door-to-door service, with music, visuals and expert storytelling bringing the journey to life.

It's beautiful architecture, its people and how it shaped history itself. Everyone is welcome, it's great for families, visitors, and people who love an adventure into the past. This beautiful city was voted the most picturesque in the world, so what's stopping you?
4Opened in 1850, Overleigh Cemetery hosts many fascinating graves and monuments that reflect Chester's rich and diverse history. Every gravestone conceals a life story waiting to be told, and every grave has a hidden history. Led by a qualified and insured Green Badge guide, tours will include visits to around 25 of the most notable graves. Designed by a famous local architect, T.M. Penson, the cemetery was laid out "with admirable taste" and included two lodges, two chapels, and an ornamental lake with three islands. Humble graves were unmarked or had a simple wooden cross, while the better-off had grander memorials. You'll discover the extraordinary stories of some of those laid to rest here, including Mary Jonas, who had 33 children, including 15 sets of identical twins; Edward Langry, the husband of Edward VII's mistress, who went crazy and died in the local lunatic asylum; and William Bidulph Cross, who made his own illuminated coffin from wooden matchboxes.
