This tour surpassed our expectations and was truly outstanding. Rob, our guide, was fantastic and had a deep understanding of Charlottesville. We visited five different restaurants at “The Corner,” and the portion sizes were generous, so come hungry; we even took some food home. The three-hour tour included a bit of walking on UVA’s campus, making it a wonderful way to enjoy tasty food while learning about Charlottesville.
Rob did an outstanding job as our tour guide. His local insights truly made the experience feel tailored to us. The food was delicious, though there was plenty more than we could eat, even with our big appetites. Thank you!
Rob was an excellent guide who took us to five local favorites around UVA, and he definitely advised us to come with an appetite, which we found out was necessary. The tour featured Bobo’s, a well-known Chinese spot, a Lebanese fast food place, The White Spot for a “Gus burger,” and a chicken wing location. We ended up having to take the wings home since we were so full. He also pointed out the memorial dedicated to enslaved individuals at UVA, created by the same artist who made the Vietnam Memorial in D.C. Cindy, a second-year UVA student, may also be your guide as Rob is training her for tours. There's a lot of interesting history, especially helpful if you’ve already visited Monticello before the tour.
The selection of food was fantastic, featuring scrumptious bagels, dumplings, Middle Eastern cuisine, and tasty vegetarian options like veggie burgers and cauliflower wings.
During our visit to UVa, my teenage daughter and I decided to enhance the academic experience with a food tour. Our guide, Susan Jones, had an engaging personality and a warm smile that instantly made us feel at ease. She shared interesting local history, details about the specialties we were tasting, and thoughtful insights about the food, which added to our enjoyment. The whole experience was both relaxing and delightful. I believe this culinary adventure will be the highlight of our trip for my daughter and me.
