Reviews
The plantation is stunning. I loved exploring the gardens, taking the tram tour, and visiting the house. However, the tour of the slave quarters felt a bit lengthy.
The tour of the plantation house and the train ride were excellent, with guides who provided both knowledge and entertainment. However, the slave cabin tour was missed as the tour guide did not arrive.
Magnolia Plantation is stunning. It provides an informative history regarding slavery, the Civil War, and the fate of plantation owners post-war. One of the slave cabins had old newspapers used for insulation. The scenery is lovely, though there wasn't enough time to explore everything. However, they now offer the chance to return within a week for free to see more.
Excellent tour guides for all three experiences. The plantation was stunning, and the onsite restaurant was enjoyable. Everything was very clean and well-maintained.
The tour was very interesting, providing a wealth of information and a comprehensive experience. You'll encounter numerous sights and delve into a variety of historical insights, especially during the slave tour. However, there is a need for better ADA compliance, including wider sidewalks and ramps for wheelchair accessibility, as well as allowing visually impaired individuals to touch certain items.
The grounds are stunning, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the self-guided tour and the nature train tour. Be ready to walk and dedicate a good amount of time to explore.
I had a fantastic experience overall, although I did return home with many mosquito bites. I plan to come back to explore more.
The tour guides were fantastic, and the bus drivers provided fascinating insights about Charleston. The guides at the plantation were outstanding, while the swamp tour was definitely worthwhile. The walking tour of the gardens was wonderful, and the café offered tasty food at a great price.
The journey to and from the plantation was quite comfortable, and our driver provided a comprehensive overview of both the area and the plantation itself. The plantation offered a well-organized experience, featuring three activities: a tour of the plantation home, a nature train ride, and a presentation on the journey from slavery to freedom.
The gardens and grounds are stunning. We took part in the house tour, the train ride, and the slavery to freedom tour, and all of them were excellent. I strongly suggest dedicating a day to visit.
