The tour guide was excellent and had a great sense of humor. He provided a wealth of information about the city. Overall, it was a lovely Sunday afternoon.
Excellent tour with an incredibly knowledgeable guide, John C.
The driver and tour guide provided valuable insights and shared an interesting history of Downtown Charleston. The tour bus was well-maintained and comfortable.
I enjoyed a bus tour of historic downtown Charleston. The city is beautiful, and the locals are friendly. I’m in town for my granddaughter's wedding this Saturday.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide was fantastic, sharing a wealth of fascinating stories and insights, making it an excellent way to get to know Charleston.
The driver was hard to hear and comprehend. The pace of the tour felt rushed, leaving us with the impression that we didn’t see or learn enough about Charleston. We cannot recommend this tour.
I might be biased, but I found this tour to be just average, as it was overloaded with dates and names. While Charleston's history is rich, it could be shared with more engaging stories and experiences. Our guide had a wealth of knowledge but often felt more like an encyclopedia than someone who conveyed Charleston's unique essence. He did share some memorable details, such as the story of the Hunley submarine and some lesser-known architectural facts, and we enjoyed driving through The Citadel grounds. However, significant events like the 1886 earthquake and Hurricane Hugo were barely discussed, which was disappointing. The tour was reasonably priced, the bus was clean, and the driver was friendly. Overall, it was an average experience, and perhaps if you've never been to Charleston, you might find it more worthwhile. I hope your guide is different.
Josh was a fantastic guide who provided a wealth of information in a very engaging manner. The 90 minutes flew by, making it feel more like a brief journey with a friend exploring the locale. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested.
The guide had a lot of knowledge and presented the information well, but the points of interest were lacking. While the architectural features of the homes caught my attention, I wished for more emphasis on the rich African culture that has shaped the city and its ongoing communities.
Make sure to head to the back of the visitors center for the meeting point. The address alone can be a bit confusing. Otherwise, it was a fantastic tour.
