This app turned out to be an excellent resource for exploring the cape, especially on a rainy day when the beach was off the table. It guided us to many attractions we might have overlooked and was fun and simple to use.
The stories were fantastic! However, the narrative tended to repeat itself before or after the intended location. Additionally, we seemed to miss several points of interest in Provincetown, and I'm not sure why that happened.
The audio tour struggled to stay synchronized with our location. When we paused to observe something, it would repeat the previous narrative. Additionally, it occasionally instructed me to turn after I had already passed the street. My experiences with other audio tour providers have been significantly better.
The tour didn't seem to synchronize with our vehicle's pace. We found ourselves having to turn around multiple times to get the narration back on track.
The experience was disappointing. It was hard to download and access, and we weren't provided a clear starting point. After nearly two hours of confusion trying to determine where to start, we lost valuable time. Switching our booking from the day before didn't help, and we had to wait for a callback from the guide. Ultimately, the tour led us to Dennis in Cape Cod, but it failed to captivate us. Instead of passing by attractions, we mostly saw woods and houses along the road. It wasn't engaging or worth the cost.
I found it difficult to locate the starting point at the Visitor's center, ending up at several incorrect locations. An address would have been helpful. Once I arrived at the right place, the staff mentioned other visitors had similar problems and expressed concern that important attractions were being overlooked. One of those attractions, which I later learned about, turned out to be one of the best I saw in Cape Cod. The audio guide was also confusing and didn't provide clear guidance for finding the pickup location unless you followed it exactly. We wasted a lot of time and ultimately decided to abandon it and attempt the tour later. When we eventually got it going as we left Cape Cod, it focused on topics we didn't care about and went on for too long. After about 45 minutes, we turned it off and chose to explore on our own. I definitely do not recommend this experience. It was not only a poor use of money but also a significant waste of time and caused unnecessary stress. I should have gathered maps and information beforehand rather than depending solely on the audio guide.
The GPS-guided driving tour of Cape Cod was a wonderful experience for exploring the region. It offered rich historical details during our drive, making each mile both scenic and informative. A great option for a self-paced adventure.
A map would have been helpful, along with more detailed driving directions. I wanted reassurance that I was on the correct route.
The directions provided were very straightforward and easy to follow, step by step. The commentary was fantastic, offering new insights at every stop. You have the freedom to pause and explore at your own pace; if you've had enough of lighthouses, you can easily skip the next one and keep going.
It's important to stick to their schedule, as there are numerous other activities along the route that can be challenging to arrange. However, once everything is underway, it turns out to be satisfactory.
