Cape Coast on a fork. Walking food tours through the markets, cooking classes with local chefs, tasting flights at the bars worth your time, and a couple of long lunches that double as the day's plan.
For those who have tasted authentic Ghanaian meals during their visit to the motherland and are willing to take back the skill and recipe to replicate to the rest of the family in their kitchens back home, this is an opportunity where you will be taken through about 3 different meals preparation by our patient and knowledgeable lady who will take you through and explain how each meal is prepared step by step. Ranging from the famous " red red meal", palaver source, etc. or you let us know if you have any meal in particular you would like to try your hands n and we will make special arrangements for you. The written recipe and instructions will be made available to you at the end of the cook workshop.
This is an interactive walking tour through various areas of Cape Coast where guests are provided historical facts and taken to several sites often times overlooked by traditional tour guides, such as London Bridge, Mfantsipim School, Kotokuraba Market and Central Mosque, just to name a few. Guests also get a first hand glimpse of the day and life of a typical Ghanaian by walking through town interacting with local street vendors, trying local foods and taking photos throughout the duration of the tour.
This guided experience takes place at Kotokraba Market, the central market of Cape Coast. Kotokraba Market is a lively, multi-section market serving the Cape Coast community, with areas dedicated to fresh produce, spices, textiles, clothing, jewellery, kente cloth, and locally made goods. Rather than a single shopping lane, the market unfolds in zones, each reflecting a different part of trade. The tour is led by a local guide who understands the market’s rhythm and layout. They help visitors navigate confidently, explain how pricing works, and barter with traders. This ensures a comfortable, memorable shopping experience. To keep the experience personal and manageable in a busy environment, groups are limited to a maximum of three guests per guide. The route is flexible and shaped by individual interests whether that’s food culture, textiles, or unique locally crafted items.
Immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of local cuisine with the guidance of your native host. Explore traditional cooking methods and ingredients while delving into the rich cultural heritage of the region. During this culinary experience, you will have the opportunity to visit a bustling local market, handpick fresh ingredients, and master the art of preparing two signature dishes, accompanied by a selection of local snacks.
