It was a great experience with Nigel as our guide, who had an impressive knowledge of the local wildlife. Going later in the evening is ideal; we enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The darkness enhances the visibility of the phytoplankton, which was noticeable but not bright enough for a regular phone camera. We encountered dolphins and manatees, and even saw the shape of what appeared to be a pangolin. The glowing water from our paddle strokes, hand splashes, and nets added to the magic of the evening.
We took a 10pm tour on Thursday with Astrid, and since we were the only participants, we could go at our leisure. Astrid offered extensive knowledge about the bioluminescent creatures. The experience was incredible; the lagoon was quite shallow, eliminating any worries about deep water. We witnessed mullet fish swimming and leaping, each creating a glowing blue aura. Additionally, we caught several comb jellies, which we could hold and observe their emitted blue light. This was a truly unique experience that I highly recommend.
This was an incredible adventure. Being out on the lagoon with our fantastic guide Astrid, completely alone, made it worthwhile. Catching cone jellies and witnessing the blue luminescent glow on our paddles, hands, and the fish around us was unforgettable. For nature enthusiasts and those interested in unique phenomena, this tour is a must.

This adventure was truly outstanding. Venture Outdoors is the top kayak tour operator in central Florida. It was our second outing with Astrid and her team, and we had a fantastic time. The group included individuals with minimal kayak experience, as well as families with kids, all of whom were able to enjoy the experience. The bioluminescence was stunning, and we even got to stop at a small island where we played in the water and created glowing bioluminescence angels. I highly recommend this for a unique and enjoyable experience. Astrid prioritizes safety, making it serene to be on the water at night. Astrid served as a fantastic guide. Observing nature during this experience was truly remarkable. For me and my 8-year-old, it was worth every penny. Initially, I was anxious about being in the water at night, but it turned out to be peaceful and I felt secure. My son thoroughly enjoyed swimming in this incredible phenomenon. With four of us in our group, we all had a wonderful time.
