Reviews
The experience was somewhat disappointing. Most of the tour consisted of long bus rides on the highway, with the scenery being largely repetitive and not as exciting as I had hoped. Additionally, the tour was quite long, but the lunch arrangements felt poorly planned. We visited a charming restaurant with potential, but ended up having to take our food to go after spending too much time driving. Eating on the bus with over 30 people was not my idea of a pleasant vacation. Also, the stop at a Celtic College didn't add much value to the tour and seemed out of place. Overall, while this trip wasn't completely awful, it certainly wasn't worthwhile. I wouldn’t recommend it, as there are likely better options available.
The drive along the winding road offered stunning autumn views, particularly memorable since it was Canada's Thanksgiving. Our local driver was humorous and made several stops for photos and restroom breaks. Although we missed the ferry due to a long wait, we had one food stop and ate in the van while traveling. Overall, I enjoyed the experience with the group.
The colors were absolutely stunning with peak foliage. I had a wonderful experience with an excellent guide who was native to the island. He provided fascinating insights and a captivating history of the area.
Bob was an excellent guide who took our small group on a drive through breathtaking scenery while sharing his extensive and fascinating knowledge about the area and its history.
The locations were truly breathtaking. It's an essential experience during the fall season! Tom, our tour guide, was fantastic and took us to all the best viewpoints.
The small group tour along the Cabot Trail was truly spectacular. Our guide Bob was exceptional—his deep knowledge of the area's history and his interesting stories enriched the experience. He knew the best spots for capturing stunning photos of the vibrant trees and even led us to a great cafe for sandwiches and treats at lunch. Additionally, we had the chance to see lobster traps and boats in the harbor, and Bob explained how the traps functioned. I wholeheartedly recommend Bannock Tours for this experience.
The tour featured a knowledgeable driver and guide who discussed all the sights and the beautiful fall colors we encountered during the journey.
This tour of the stunning Cabot Trail was truly enjoyable. The fall colors were breathtaking, even with overcast skies. The Atlantic coastline is remarkable. Our guide, Bob, who grew up in Cape Breton, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He navigated the tour expertly, ensuring we returned to our cruise ship on schedule despite road construction delays.
This excursion was truly remarkable. Our guide, Bob, a local from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, brought unmatched experience and energy. He expertly navigated back roads, allowing us to avoid crowds and traffic. After our cruise line was fully booked for this popular trip, I researched outside options for The Cabot Trail and found a better price. The views Bob showed us were stunning. We'll definitely be booking through Viator again in the future. They were punctual for both pick up and drop off.
Although there were limited options in the area, we felt fortunate to find a "small group tour" intended for 14 participants. However, due to a broken bus, our group merged with another, resulting in a full tour bus. The scenery was stunning and our guide was knowledgeable, though difficult to hear at times. Getting over 40 seniors on and off the bus at each stop took considerable time. They kindly provided us with a “free” ice cream cone for the trouble, but I had hoped for a more personal tour with clearer conversation. Another issue arose during the all-day tour when we were dropped off at a quaint lunch spot that was unprepared for a larger group, meaning we had limited food choices. Thankfully, the meal wasn't the main attraction; we were able to enjoy the beauty of Sydney, Nova Scotia, especially with the fall foliage.
