We participated in the full-day Big Horn Sheep and Royal Gorge Trip, which felt more personalized with a smaller crew and a van for transportation, rather than being transported on crowded school buses. The lunch served was a wonderful and fresh spread, offering a variety of options instead of a standard brown bag lunch. The fresh-cut veggies prepared by our rafting guide were a thoughtful addition. The crew was outstanding, prioritizing safety while ensuring a delightful experience for everyone involved. Overall, it was a superb day on the Arkansas River, and we appreciate Performance Tours for it.
My family and I enjoyed an incredible full-day rafting adventure in Bighorn Sheep Canyon with Performance Tours in Canon City. The experience was fantastic, with the water at a mid-level and plenty of class II and III rapids to navigate. Our guides, James and Bryce, were exceptional—professional, respectful, and eager to meet our needs. They quickly gained the trust of our small children, aged 8 and 11, who had an unforgettable time and are already excited for our next trip. For an outstanding experience at a reasonable cost, these are the guides to choose. I highly recommend them and will definitely return in the future.
This experience is essential for your to-do list. Our group of seven used two rafts, with Brice guiding one. Our adult kids really enjoyed him, while we found James to be incredible too. Both guides were very knowledgeable about the area and made the trip enjoyable. The full-day rafting was outstanding; we were constantly engaged. Lunch was fresh and delicious. If you can, opt for the full-day trip—you won't regret it.
We are completely satisfied with our decision to book with this company. Our family, consisting of mostly older children aged 21 and one 16-year-old, enjoyed a full day of rafting. Our guide, Brice, took us on an excellent route at a nice pace. We observed several other groups that seemed to be just floating, while Brice even allowed us to jump off a cliff. The lunch they provided was impressive; unlike our previous rafting experience in Buena Vista, which had a disappointing lunch option with insufficient food, we had plenty to satisfy everyone. When two members fell overboard, Brice skillfully ensured that we got back on the raft safely. His knowledge of the area's history and the interesting details he shared added to our experience. They supplied wetsuits, splash jackets, booties, and all necessary safety gear. I highly recommend this adventure and would definitely rebook in the future.

The full-day Gorge experience was remarkable, starting with class IIIs, a delicious lunch from Road Runner, and then class IVs in the afternoon—everything was incredible! Performance Tours is definitely the best choice. We had an incredible full-day rafting adventure through the Gorge with Brice. We spent half the day navigating class IIIs and tackled exciting class IVs in the afternoon. The lunch provided on the river, thoughtfully put together by Road Runner, was a nice touch. Our safety kayaker, Josh, was fantastic as well. This team truly cares for their rafters, and Brice was a wonderful guide—he made the experience safe, enjoyable, and educational while encouraging everyone to connect with the river. We plan to return next year.

Performance Tours provided an incredible experience. Kurt led us on a full day of white water rafting, navigating Class 1, 2, and 3 rapids. As a mother to two boys aged 10 and 13, I felt nervous but Kurt's calm demeanor and humor reassured us as he communicated what was ahead. With over 25 years of guiding experience in Colorado and time spent in Patagonia during the off-season, he truly knows his stuff. I highly recommend supporting local businesses and meeting Mabel, the sweet dog. The lunch was also delicious and fresh. It was a wonderful experience, and I can't wait to return in a few years when my boys are ready for tougher rapids. Huge thanks to Kurt for his patience with us!
