We thoroughly enjoyed our full day rafting with Journey Quest. For me, it was my first experience, while my husband had been rafting twice before. Mark, the owner and our guide, was outstanding—professional, engaging, knowledgeable, and occasionally quite funny. We also met his wife Sara and the rest of the staff, all of whom were incredibly kind and helpful. Our day began with a group prayer on the boat, leading to an experience that was both enjoyable and challenging. The Royal Gorge was breathtaking and rich in history. As retired Navy personnel who have traveled extensively, we can genuinely say this was one of our top adventures. We enthusiastically recommend Journey Quest and are already planning our next trip with them. Thank you, Mark, Sara, and the entire team! The whole experience was incredible, starting with a smooth check-in and equipment fitting, followed by a safety briefing, and then the actual rafting. We enjoyed a half-day kayaking trip led by Chris, and the next day, we participated in a full-day Royal Gorge rafting trip with Emmaline. Both of them were outstanding guides and really enjoyable to be around. After each day, we had the option to see and purchase around 50 photos of our adventures, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend Journey Quest. I opted for them over larger commercial companies because they accommodate fewer people in the rafts and offer a more personalized experience. When we return to the area next year, I will definitely book another trip with them.
What an incredible rafting experience we had in the gorge! The trip featured three class 5 and several class 4 rapids. Mark and his team were exceptional. Rafting the Arkansas River is unparalleled. This was our third family adventure and it just keeps getting better.
Our adventure was incredible! Luke proved to be an excellent guide, sharing his extensive knowledge about the Royal Gorge's history and expertly handling the rapids. I felt chilly during the morning segment, and during lunch, Luke arranged for a dry jacket and fleece to keep me warm. I was unaware that Journey Quest was affiliated with a Christian Wilderness Ministry when booking, but there were no religious elements beyond a brief safety prayer at the start, which I appreciated. Luke ensured our safety, making it a wonderful experience.
Mark and Chris were excellent guides. They shared stories and jokes while pointing out sights as we floated down the river. Their support and encouragement made everyone in the group feel at ease. Overall, it was a fantastic day for all.
