Half-day tour exploring Santoña’s marshes and canning factory, including a tasting of anchovy products.
This half-day tour covers both the Santoña Marshes and an anchovy canning factory. Start by learning about the rich history and culture of Santoña through a mural presentation at the meeting point. Following that, venture into the marsh reserve, a vital wetland in northern Spain, where binoculars are provided for birdwatching, specifically targeting marsh lemicola birds.
The tour continues with a visit to the anchovy factory. Here, you’ll gain insight into the production process of anchovy fillets, culminating in a tasting of the factory's products. Please note that on Saturdays, holidays, and bridge days, the factory may not be operational; in these cases, an employee will demonstrate the anchovy filleting process instead.
