Four hours led by a guide — sunset at Moraine Lake, stargazing with telescopes, and wildlife spotting along Bow Valley Parkway.
This evening tour provides a different perspective on Moraine Lake, showcasing its tranquil beauty as the setting sun casts warm colours across the peaks. Starting from Canmore, the journey includes the scenic Bow Valley Parkway, where wildlife viewing is possible, and a stop at Morant’s Curve for photographs.
At Moraine Lake, a guided walk along the lakeshore trail allows you to appreciate the serene atmosphere. You'll ascend the rockpile for sweeping views as daylight fades into night. Once the stars emerge, the minimal light pollution enhances the stargazing experience; telescopes and binoculars are on hand to bring constellations and planets into sharper focus. Dress warmly, as temperatures can drop once the sun sets.

Laura was an excellent guide who shared valuable insights about the region. Despite the cloudy weather, we enjoyed a great view of the stars and even witnessed the Aurora! She truly goes above and beyond to ensure all guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Don’t miss out on this tour!
The excursion lasted quite a while, but it was definitely worth it. Our guide, Tobias, was engaging, amusing, and had a wealth of local information. Despite the cloudy evening, we managed to capture auroras with my camera. Tobias provided great insights about both photography and the night sky. The climb was rocky but manageable; just make sure to dress appropriately for the hike and the weather.
Lake Louise tends to be extremely crowded, and access to Lake Moraine is now limited to private tours or shuttles. We were pleased to take this evening tour when the crowds had thinned. Moraine is breathtaking, particularly at sunset and under the stars. Despite the poor weather that night, which left us cold and damp, we had a great experience. Our guide Laura was fantastic—knowledgeable, passionate about the area and its wildlife, friendly, and dedicated to ensuring we had the best time possible. We appreciated the provided rain capes and walking poles, as well as the hot chocolate. Laura even assisted us in capturing stunning shots of the Milky Way when the clouds briefly cleared. While there's no guarantee of good weather, a clear night could transform this into an exceptional tour. Keep in mind that the return to Banff happens quite late, but the hotel drop-off was a nice touch.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset/Stargazing experience led by our guide, Laura. Being up at Moraine Lake with just eleven others was a treat since it gets quite crowded during the day. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, and we were met with clouds. Still, Laura was fantastic, providing us with a wealth of information and tips for our trip and future hikes. She also recommended visiting Kananaskis, which we did the following day and absolutely loved. We found a store she suggested and took notes for places to explore on our next visit. Our only disappointment was not scheduling this tour earlier in our trip to benefit from even more of her insights. Thank you, Laura, and Into the Wild!
This experience was simply amazing and stood out as my top activity in Banff, despite the cloudy weather preventing us from seeing any stars. Moraine Lake felt enchanting in its tranquility, as our small group enjoyed the solitude. Sebastian was a fantastic guide, combining knowledge with humor and going above and beyond to enhance the entire experience.
Initially, I thought that watching the sunset at Moraine wouldn't compare to the sunrise, but it proved to be a unique experience. Booking this tour eliminated the stress of driving to Lake Louise Village for pickup and the uncertainty of the Parks Canada shuttle waitlist. The convenience of being picked up and dropped off at my hotel made for a fantastic experience. Our guide, Sebastian, was very knowledgeable and shared interesting trivia about Banff, keeping the group energetic and cheerful. He greeted us warmly with a smile. While the sunset at Lake Moraine was a bit chilly, great company made it enjoyable. We were offered hot chocolate or coffee, and we had foam pads to sit comfortably on the rocks while we watched the sunset. The overall experience was wonderful, despite some clouds. Sebastian even took us for a brief visit to the Lake Louise lakeshore so we could see more stars. I recommend booking this tour during clear weather and checking the northern lights forecast, as they are flexible with timing. I have high hopes for this tour company because they are one of the newest in Banff, and their personal touch is evident. Wishing them great success!
It was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Sebastian, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed.
This excursion was a fantastic experience. Tobias, our guide, was exceptional in showcasing the stunning landscapes and providing insightful historical context at each location. At 72, I was hesitant about climbing the "Rockpile" for the sunset and stargazing, but Tobias had walking sticks available for those who needed assistance and provided hand warmers for added comfort. He taught us how to take remarkable time-lapse photos of the stars and explained the constellations and prominent stars. The highlight was when he had us pause for a few minutes to appreciate the silence, which felt truly magical. Overall, this experience exceeded my expectations, thanks to Tobias.
The nighttime stargazing tour offered stunning views and a distinct experience. Our guide was very well-informed about the region and made stops at excellent viewing spots. It was an enjoyable adventure.
Our family of four, including my parents and husband, thoroughly enjoyed the Moraine Lake Sunset and Stargazing tour. Our guide, Seb, was exceptional—he was humorous, helpful, and highly knowledgeable. Moraine Lake was breathtaking, and having it nearly to ourselves was a delightful bonus. The stargazing conditions were ideal, with clear skies, but it got quite chilly, so be sure to dress warmly. Seb assisted me in capturing some amazing star photos with a tripod. We departed Moraine Lake around 9 PM. I highly recommend this tour for unforgettable memories.
