Cambridge Common in Cambridge — view 2
Cambridge Common is a historic park that spans about 16 acres, serving as a central gathering place in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts. It played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War, particularly as a site where George Washington took command of the Continental Army in 1775. Visitors find expansive lawns dotted with monuments, trees, and pathways, evoking a sense of the area's rich history. Spend time wandering the well-kept grounds, especially in spring and fall when the foliage is at its most striking. The common is adjacent to Harvard University, making it an ideal spot to combine with a visit to the campus or nearby Harvard Square, where cafes and shops are plenty. Look out for local events that may be happening in the park.

Take this tour for a wonderful blend of delicious food and engaging history focusing on Harvard University, the Town of Cambridge, and Boston. This was our fourth Secret Food Tour, and it surpassed the others largely due to our guide, Sean D. His passion for his hometown, along with its architecture and history, is evident and memorable. Sean offered excellent recommendations near our hotel in Back Bay and for our next stop in Hyannis. Each food stop was satisfying and abundant. While we enjoyed all the options, the fish sandwich at the oyster house stood out to us. After the afternoon tour, we were so full that a light dinner was all we needed. Secret Food Tours is an excellent way to enjoy local cuisine while learning fascinating facts about the city.Diana025 on the Harvard and Cambridge walking food tour tour
