The chartered bus collected us from our resort, and we traveled for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to our destination. We snorkeled at two beautiful locations, enjoying the lovely water. The crew and captain were friendly and welcoming, providing champagne, rum punch, and snacks. We spent about two hours at Paradise Island and later enjoyed a tasty lunch that included gumbo, lobster, beans and rice, salad, and dessert. It was a fantastic day, and I’m happy we chose to participate. I highly recommend this experience.
We truly enjoyed the trip; it featured the most stunning snorkeling experience on the island. We highly recommend it.
We had an incredible experience snorkeling at the island. The crystal-clear waters were amazing, and we had a lot of fun. I highly recommend this activity without reservation.
The trip to Paradise Island was fantastic. We had a great time snorkeling, the service was excellent, and the crew was very friendly. We highly recommend it.
The experience was wonderful! The staff was welcoming and friendly. Swimming with the fish was delightful, and the boat ride through the mangroves was incredible. I highly recommend this activity!
The tour was excellent! I really enjoyed exploring isla bonita, even with the rain. The bus was comfortable and had air conditioning, which made the experience better.
The trip was generally acceptable but felt too disorganized for our taste. There were several downsides: the initial transport bus was cramped with insufficient air conditioning, and with locked windows, it felt dangerous. Although we were later transferred to a larger, cooler bus, the excessive number of pickups and drop-offs primarily prioritized major hotels in Puerto Plata, leading to a four-hour journey instead of two. The island itself offered limited space for sitting or shade, and the provided water seemed questionable, potentially risking contamination. There wasn't enough snorkeling gear, and the guide did not confirm who wanted to snorkel before moving on. Our original driver left without ensuring our transport back, resulting in a longer wait until another driver arrived. On the positive side, the staff were exceedingly helpful, and our guide, Mendy, was well-versed in both local cultures and languages. The boat crew made efforts to keep us safe while ensuring we had an enjoyable experience, and the food at the restaurant was excellent. I believe the issues stem from management rather than the employees, who seem to prioritize profit over guest comfort. To improve the experience, I'd recommend a new package structure to distinguish between hotel locations in Puerto Plata and outlying areas like Cabarete and Sosua, each with dedicated transport and guides. Additionally, creating more substantial seating at the sandbar, supplying bottled water instead of tap water, and allowing guests to indicate snorkeling interest during booking could enhance organization. There is potential for this tour, but management needs to be open to making necessary adjustments for improved guest satisfaction.
The island makes for an excellent excursion spot. The team was very friendly, and even though we were the only two Germans, the tour guide made sure to translate everything into German for us.
I regret not having more time on the paradise island. The day involved lengthy transportation and numerous hotel pickups and drop-offs. Nevertheless, the island provided an incredible experience that would have been even more unforgettable with a longer stay.
The tour was enjoyable, although the bus journey felt lengthy. Once we arrived on the island, the beautiful, crystal-clear water and abundant marine life made it worthwhile. The guides provided snacks and drinks, allowing for a relaxing experience where you could snorkel or enjoy the water. The return trip through the mangroves turned out to be an unexpected thrill that I really enjoyed. However, the lunch afterwards was disappointing; it was insufficient and unappetizing, and there wasn’t even any dessert. This influenced my rating. We did stop at a small farm where the kids found it fascinating to learn about rolling tobacco and grinding coffee. Overall, it was an excellent tour, aside from the lunch.
