The 4 Wheel Drive Tour by Anthonyinfotours was exactly what I needed. Anthony reached out immediately after I booked, confirming my hotel pick-up. On the day of the tour, he contacted me to let me know the driver was en route. My sister and I were fortunate to be the only participants on our afternoon tour, allowing for a personalized experience. The tour itself was fantastic. We explored back road country areas of the Dominican Republic, and as someone originally from Trinidad and Tobago but now living in Ohio, I found some of the tropical landscapes reminiscent of home. The locals we passed by were welcoming, and it was lovely to see donkeys, cows, and goats along the way. The pace of the tour was perfect for both beginners like my sister and seasoned ATV drivers like myself. I've done similar activities five times before, but this was the best tour yet. The variety of terrains—including rugged paths, mud, and hills—provided an excellent sense of what the ATV could handle, making it a great adventure. Additionally, the tour lasted about an hour, much longer than other, pricier tours in the US that often last only 20 to 30 minutes. Johnny, our driver, was friendly and accommodating, particularly to my sister who had some mobility challenges, and he communicated in English very well. A nice touch was that the guides took photos and a short video of us riding the ATVs and sent them free of charge at the end of the tour. Danny, our lead guide, airdropped our food tour details before we wrapped up, while the other guide, whom I didn’t catch the name of, was at the back with my sister while I rode upfront with Danny. He did forget to send the video initially, but when I reached out to Anthony later that night, he followed up immediately with the guide to ensure we received it, demonstrating exceptional customer service. On the downside, there was an unexpected $10 USD per person cash insurance fee at the start of the tour that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Having to pay $20 in cash that I hadn’t anticipated was a bit uncomfortable, not so much because of the amount but because it cut into the cash I intended to tip the guides and driver. Overall, my sister and I had a fantastic experience on this ATV tour, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a bit of adventure. Here’s a quick recap of the highlights: PROS • Excellent customer service. • Attentive and dependable. • Safe, with a guide leading and another following to ensure safety. • Moderate pace suitable for all skill levels. • Varied terrains to enjoy. • Free photos and video from the ATV trip. • An entire hour of ATV riding. CONS • Optional insurance fee not noted in tour details, only payable in cash.
Excellent outing. This experience far surpassed what the cruise provided. It was unique and enjoyable, veering off the usual tourist track. The pickup and drop-off were prompt, and the guides were very friendly. I would definitely consider booking again.
This tour was incredible. They offered bottled water twice, and every member of the team made our time in the Dominican Republic so enjoyable. I highly recommend this company for their outstanding customer service. Plus, they take photos and videos for free.
This tour was a lot of fun. The staff was friendly and very supportive, taking excellent photos and managing traffic whenever we needed to cross the street. We enjoyed beautiful views of the farmland and coast, as well as stunning mountain scenery. It was a great morning.
Our pickup from the hotel led us to the buggy center, where we received our quad bikes and instructions before hitting the trail. It was an exhilarating experience with plenty of mud and water to navigate. We paused at a beach for refreshments, returning to the trails after 30 minutes. The staff ensured our safety during road crossings by managing traffic. Everyone was incredibly friendly. It was a fantastic and enjoyable morning.
I cannot recommend this experience. We were transported by a minivan to what felt like a residential area. The driver was polite and spoke English. Upon arrival, we found two teenagers maintaining the ATVs. We expected to ride our own vehicles, but they intended for two people to share one ATV, despite us paying extra in cash for separate ones, which effectively doubled our costs. They didn’t have two-seater models available. We were offered bandanas for $3 to protect our faces from the dirt, which was a worthwhile purchase. Unfortunately, the ATVs were in poor condition, both showing service lights indicating overheating. My friend's seat and back panel completely detached during our ride. I was covered in oil and grease by the end, and my helmet fit so loosely that a fall could have been fatal. The ride itself took us along a rocky road beside the beach. Our first stop was a tourist shop with mainly cheap souvenirs and some cigars. We then stopped at another place to buy drinks. Finally, we returned and spent about 15 minutes at a beach. Sadly, our guide did not engage with us during the two-hour ride, leaving us in the dark about what we were experiencing or where we were going. We were on rough ATVs but didn’t really enjoy the scenery, as we remained on a backcountry road the entire time without any insight about the island.
This excursion offered incredible value. We jumped right onto the ATVs upon arrival, and our guide, Dani, exceeded our expectations by allowing us to ride for at least two hours with several stops to experience Dominican life and enjoy drinks. After the ATV ride, our taxi driver took us to downtown, including the Umbrella District and the Amber Museum, with additional stop options we couldn't take due to time constraints. For those seeking a reasonably priced excursion off the boat that maximizes your experience, this is the one.
Everything went smoothly, and the communication was excellent. The tour guides were friendly, and the photos and videos were stunning. We received them promptly, and I have no complaints.
This was a truly unique and enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend. There were just four of us, which made it feel like a private tour. Although the overall operations appeared somewhat questionable at the start, it's important to trust the process.
Anthony, the owner, was very responsive and kept in touch with us. Even though we woke up late due to feeling unwell, he still let us join the excursion. Our driver, Johnny, was also great—very patient with our delay and had a friendly demeanor. The ATV adventure was enjoyable, with helpful guides who prioritized safety and ensured we had a fantastic experience. For your information, we opted for the $10 USD ATV insurance and bought the photos and videos for $30 USD.
