This three-hour horseback riding tour starts with pickup from your hotel or the Cruise Port Terminal in Puerto Plata. A brief drive takes you to the ranch, where well-cared-for horses await, saddled up and ready to go. The tour focuses on exploring the scenic routes around local mountains or the beach, led by experienced guides who ensure your safety and enjoyment throughout the ride.
The horses are trained and accustomed to riders of various skill levels, making this a suitable activity for both beginners and seasoned equestrians. Enjoy a morning in the lush tropical environment, surrounded by stunning flora. Remember to wear appropriate clothing and footwear as you saddle up for an enjoyable experience.

Our pickup on a hot day was disappointing as the driver had no air conditioning in his vehicle. We were dropped off on the roadside with two locals and four horses. The horseback riding experience lasted just under an hour, with most of the time spent traveling to and from the beach, leaving us with only about 20 minutes to ride on the beach itself.
The horses were incredibly gentle and sweet. The guides who accompanied us were not only professional but also very kind. I particularly enjoyed the delicious piña colada pineapple on the beach.
The Viator sign was not visible, and I had to shout for them among a large crowd. The driver spoke no English. It poured rain and we were completely soaked, yet the tour continued. After the beach horseback ride, we arrived at a place without running water to clean off the mud, and there was no functioning toilet. Waste was managed with a bucket, which was quite disappointing and unsanitary.
The horseback riding experience was enjoyable. The guides were very knowledgeable and spoke English fluently, which made the tour run smoothly. We preferred this horseback riding to the one we did in Honduras. However, I didn't give it a full 5 stars due to the unprofessional location where we met the horses.
It was a wonderful day for the tour with the horses. I enjoyed it a lot, though it would have been great to have snacks and water included. Thank you for the experience. I would love to return.
The horseback ride was a lot of fun. We explored beaches and ranches, making for a fantastic short trip. The trail was a bit muddy, so I recommend wearing darker pants.
I had a fantastic time on this horseback riding tour. It was so much fun! I'm not typically a horse enthusiast, but the guides really made it an incredible experience.
The horseback riding experience was delightful, taking us through both the rainforest and along the beach. The horses were wonderful, and the saddles provided good comfort. It’s worth mentioning that helmets were not provided.
Our family of six enjoyed a fantastic time with Anthony’s Info Tours during the Horseback Riding Adventure from Jungle to Beach. Traveling with our four kids, aged 11, 9, 7, and 6, this became a highlight of our island trip. Upon disembarking from our cruise, we met a member of Anthony’s team without any trouble just outside the cruise area. The organization was impressive from then on. Pepo drove us into the jungle where the horses were ready. The team ensured that everyone, especially the younger kids, was settled comfortably in their saddles, which was reassuring. They even had two helpers ride alongside our youngest children, which provided us with added comfort. The ride through the jungle to the beach was stunning and offered an immersive view of the island, which our kids thoroughly enjoyed. At the beach, we stopped for lunch, and the snapper fish was a standout dish—it was excellent. Although the piña coladas didn't meet our taste, the overall experience and beautiful setting compensated for that. One of the guides captured photos during the ride and offered them for sale afterward. We chose not to buy any, but it was a nice option to have. Communication with Anthony before and during the trip was top-notch. Pepo even made a stop at an ATM on our way back so we could tip the team, which we appreciated. One suggestion I have is to plan ahead for tips or consider including them in the total cost. We paid $450 via TripAdvisor for the excursion and tipped $100 in cash, with photos available for $60 and lunch costing another $60, as no credit cards were accepted. In summary, this was an amazing family-friendly adventure. Our kids had a wonderful time, the team was kind and accommodating, and it was a memorable way to discover the island beyond the cruise port. We would definitely recommend this experience to other families seeking a unique and active shore excursion.
This was certainly an interesting experience from beginning to end. While the pickup to drop-off felt a bit unorganized, everything turned out fine. The pickup location was somewhat ambiguous and a walk from the port, so having WhatsApp or another way to reach the driver is essential. The van took us to a spot roughly 10 minutes from the port, and it was quite muddy during our visit, so dressing appropriately is advisable as you might get a bit wet. They charge $60 for photos, which you can capture better with your own phone, but negotiating the price is possible. Overall, the ride was pleasant, offering views along the beach for photos. It's worth participating only if you genuinely enjoy horseback riding, as it lasts around three hours.
