Taragarh Fort
Bundi, India

Taragarh Fort is a medieval hill fort built in the 13th century, perched atop a hill overlooking Bundi. Constructed from local sandstone, its massive walls and watchtowers reflect the ingenuity of the Rajput military architecture. Visitors arrive at the fort through grand gateways, where ruins of palaces and intricate frescoes can be explored.
Plan at least an hour to explore the fort's various levels and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Early mornings or late afternoons are ideal for cooler weather and softer light. The nearby Bundi Palace is a short walk down the hill and complements the visit nicely.
