Cottonwood Lake
Buena Vista, USA

Cottonwood Lake is a serene mountain lake situated at an elevation of over 2,400 metres, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Collegiate Range in the Sawatch Mountains. It's known for its stunning turquoise waters reflecting the sky and the vibrant colours of autumn, drawing visitors to its peaceful shores year-round.
Spend a few hours hiking the scenic trails that encircle the lake, especially during late spring for wildflower blooms or fall for the changing leaves. The area is also a starting point for more challenging hikes, like the ascent to the nearby 14,197-foot Mount Harvard. Keep an eye out for wildlife, particularly moose.
